University Heights cruises to an easy win, they will play the winner of Bishop Brossart/Lexington Christian game tomorrow at 6:30pm. Hopson with 28, Edmundson 23 for UH.

28 for Hopson, 23 for Edmonson... UH shot 60% from the field. Congrats UH, good luck tomorrow! Congrats to St. Henry for making it to the All A. Good luck for the rest of the year.

Congrats to UHA! Quite a performance against a solid St. Henry squad. Best of luck the rest of the way. Hard to believe anyone is going to be able to beat this team.

Was there a "Play of the game"? Alot of people expected a close game. Any reason why it wasn't? And how was the attendance for UH? I know in the past they never really had a big fan group. Was just wondering if they had good support this year.

I always like to watch UHA play. To me this is not an upset at all. I think UHA is a top 15 team that has a chance to make a deep run at Rupp if they can come together as team. I have seen them twice this year and they didn't disappoint with wins over Adair and Tates Creek. Hopson did a really good job in guarding Ballou in the post in the Adair Co. game. He can play good defense on the inside and out. Edmonson should be an allstate player and they have a lot of help too.

 

I know St. Henry has been on a mini roll as of late but with earlier losses this year to St. Pat, Westen Hills, and St. X I didn't expect them to give UHA much of a challenge.

Seemed as if there was more fans from St. Henry than UHA. Hard to pick a play of the game, Hopsen had 3 or 4 dunks, but #14 had a pretty sweet play. All in all, blowout UHA, Congrats.

Correct on the bolded part. No upset here whatsoever. UHA dominated. I was looking forward to seeing Hopson in action, and I wasn't disappointed. Great player. But he was nearly upstaged by his teammate, Edmonson. He's D-1 material too. I asked some fans from UHA what colleges were looking at him but they didn't know.

And dunks. I lost count but I believe UHA had around 6 for the game.

UHA should cruise into Saturday's semi's.

-The Crusaders fought and gave it everything they had. The difference in this game was they were out talented.

-Even after playing 20minutes of average to not good basketball the Crusaders only trailed by 10 (44-34) with 4:10 left in the 3rd. They missed 2 opportunities to get the game to single digits.

-Then.....4 minutes later at the end of the 3rd St. Henry trailed 58-36

-At halftime Hopson and Edmondson had 34 of the 39 points.

-Mark it down, I said it.....Edmondson is a better all around high school player than Hopson.

-Best St. Henry highlight. A player spiking the ball off the face of backup pg Jake Hils and bouncing into the basket. Should be an ESPN highlight.

-Hopson is the #9 player in the country but not the best player on his team?

-I totally understand after watching the #9 player in the country why the top 25 teams in the country aren't recruiting him. Talk about lazy.

-New record for St. Henry today......Most dunks given up in one game.

-University Heights is a nice small school team. A top 25 in the state even. But they are no where near the same type of team as LexCath, Mason, Bryan Station, or Scott Co. This is because of their defense.

-Why was the UHA coach using a half court trap up 29 in with 4 minutes left in the game???????

-Why was Hopson and Edmondson in the game up 29 with 4 minutes to go??

-UHA JV team that came in the last 2min was awful. St. Henry JV would destroy UHA JV. With that said, if UHA is a powerhouse again next year and the year after...Where would there studs come from???? hmmm:sssh:

-Good Luck to UHA, you deserve the ALL A championship again and are the best team in the tournament. Congrats and Good Luck the rest of the year to youg guys.

-Congrats to my Crusaders!! You guys should hold your heads high and remeber your the 9th Region All A Champs, more than most of us can say.

This informant also said that Edmondson would really like to play at Vanderbilt and has the grades too, but hasn't recieved an offer.

 

Also, the informant said 1 asst coach watched the two this summer in a game and not 1 UK staff member has been back to watch Hopson since that night.

Totally agree with you about Edmondson. Very, very good player and indeed did impress me much more so than Hopson. Glad to read that he is indeed a good student and I hope for him, he gets his wish.

 

Again agree with you on your comments, good team poor "D". Why with so many more games left to play in the ALL "A" do you not want to rest your starters.

 

Not so sure about that statement. The team that impressed me the most, or at least had IMO the best athletic ability of any team that I saw yesterday (didn't see the Hazard game) was Bardstown...

Hopson shows D-I potential

 

No question NKYBoy, our Crusaders were just out-talented. No one's fault at all. Sometimes you just lose to a better team and that's ok. The dunk show was nice but I just can't get over the lackadasical play and soft defense from UHA. My guess is that they knew that had that game in the bag. Still, being lazy isn't going to get you anywhere in March.

 

Shake it off and move on Cru. Rematch on Tuesday with the NewCath team you just knocked off and they will be ready to knock you off in your gym.
