Unless things have changed, Powell County is not in the viewing area. I have seen them ranked before.

Powell County and Estill County from the 14th region are neither in the viewing area. I know of several people from those counties who have tried for years to get Wymt, but the host station, WKYT, won't budge an inch. They say those two counties are too close to Lexington, so they shut them out. That argument doesn't make sense. I live in Owsley County and get both stations, but Powell and Estill citizens are blocked out. They say they are members of the 14th too, and want to watch Sports Overtime like others in the region do on Friday nights.

I think Morgan Co was also in the top 10 a few years back...when they made the trip to Rupp... If my geography isn't off, isn't Elliot Co. the next County east of Morgan

Morgan County is in the viewing area and Elliott County isn't.

Looks like the folks in Elliott need to buy a taller antenna!!!

I don't think of the 16th in that group being in northeastern Kentucky and on the Ohio River. I think it was the Herald that used to always refer to regions 13-15 as the mountain regions. That's the way I think of it.

If McCreary county is not the mountains,then I would love to see there idea of a mountain.lol

It is really pointless to complain because your team isn't on there specially when your team isn't in the viewing area. It is not recognized or noteworthy. It is just for the viewers to see who the local news thinks are the better teams in the viewing area.

Wouldn't trying to open up a debate, but guess I stirred the pot. Just wanted to clarify what was their viewing area. Living in Central KY I have never watched the channel nor do I get it. Good lively discussion though since I just came back to the thread to get my answer. Thanks to all.......

What about when 2 teams from the 14th region (a mountain region) are not included? What if Powell County or Estill County were good enough to be rated in the top 10 in the state, but not even included in the Mountain Top 10? Isn't that kind of silly?
