What is not acceptable to you?

Featured Replies

Parents turned in statements to KHSAA 3 years ago nothing ever came of it, as well as the head coach of Franklin County at the time filing a complaint. So to answer your question yes there was proof.

Then maybe what you are alleging happened wasn't illegal.

If that's the case I have no problem with it.

So we agree the above is unacceptable?

No. If the KHSAA found no violation then it's not illegal.

No. If the KHSAA found no violation then it's not illegal.

KHSAA may not have been able to prove the violation occurred. That is a big difference than a violation didn't occur.

I had a member of KHSAA confide in me once that they believed a large private HS was involved in several different things but they couldn't prove it. About 18 months later, they were able to finally prove something. They still believed that they had been guilty of other things, too, but since they couldn't prove it, they couldn't deal out a punishment.

I would say that is not much different in real life when police have a good knowledge of criminal activity but they can't prove it. Waiting for the criminal to mess up and give them the proof they need.

No. If the KHSAA found no violation then it's not illegal.

The converse is if found a violation then it is illegal.

Did any of them end up going to Trinity ?

I know that the coaches son goes to Trinity. I have no idea of any others. Anyone?

Coaches son goes there, the kids are great, I like the dad as well he is a good guy in my dealing with him he however I feel that this is unacceptable.

Feelings or opinions aside, if as stated, its not acceptable according to our friends at KHSAA. Case BL-10-3- specifically addresses some of the supposed actions.

If the coach is still actively promoting his school directly to public school students that is possibly a problem. If he is not, and the KHSAA did investigate, they probably reminded him of the case noted above to 'curb his enthusiasm' and left it at that since it would seem to be another grey area where a person is acting at different times in different roles as defined by KHSAA (as a coach this strickly forbidden, as a parent....its not as a clear). But when one of those roles is on-staff coach you should know the rules (and the associated Case Studies!) and err on the side of caution when it comes to promoting your school. Its really that simple.

4. No school-specific (or general) recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No talking about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact http://www.khsaa.org to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.
