What is not acceptable to you?

Featured Replies

Since we have the thread that asks what you think should be acceptable for schools drawing students, lets have one for what you think should not be done by schools.

This one might be better than mine. All right I know of a coach at Trinity high School that was after some of the kids at Elkhorn Middle school in frankfort. That coach who is a father of an Elkhorn Middle School player, gave them all Trinity gear, invitations to school events, took them down to a game, took them to take an entrance exam and so on. Kinda like colleges do when they are recruiting one kid even got the final dollar figure of what it was going to cost him to attend. To me that is unacceptable, does this kind of thing happen alot?

Depends on who you ask.....:sssh:

Since you have proof of this I'm sure you turned it over to the KHSAA, correct?

You do realize that all of Franklin Co. is in the Diocese of Lexington, not the Archdiocese of Louisville.

Since you have proof of this I'm sure you turned it over to the KHSAA, correct?

Parents turned in statements to KHSAA 3 years ago nothing ever came of it, as well as the head coach of Franklin County at the time filing a complaint. So to answer your question yes there was proof.

If you had credible proof and turned it over then I applaud you. In this instance, I have problems with people who claim they have credible proof, and don't turn it in.

I don't belive that an offical coach from Trinity would be that stupid. I don't know the policy on children of faculty members(if this coach is a faculty or staff member) that live outside the diocese being able to attend a school inside the diocese. The other kids live in the Dioces of Lexington, and therefore would have to attend Lexington Catholic. The story has holes, I don't belive it. Plus, there is a placement exam, not an entrance exam.

So here we go...again...with he said, she said accusations that were supposedly turned into KHSAA and now resurface 3 years later.

I am not mad at anyone except KHSAA for this sort of event. Their secrecy and lack of forthcoming on actual investigations and supposed ones as described here is a major source of the teeth mashing on this subject.

Every formal complaint to the KHSAA should be logged, tracked, investigated and documented - on a public website! The details, when the investigation is done, should be available. Peoples personal information should be protected by all means but lets get the ghosts out of the machine and let all the accusations, investigations and issues come to light. If you look at the KHSAA website for information on the LCA investigation its not there. A one or 2 paragraph announcement for Bylaw 10 Recuiting violations. If you read the LCA coaches letter and believe it they the voilations were actually Bylaw 7 violations but the KHSAA chooses to put any and all financial violations under Bylaw 10 (for some unexplained reason). What was the truth, who knows. But the lack of KHSAA reporting leaves coaches feeling they have to find some unofficial method of reporting the facts and leaves a lot of us mad at other.

So lets get this straight . This father who was also a coach at Trinity gave his kid and some of his kid's buddies some Trinity hats or shirts of something like that showed the kids a good time at some Trinity sporting events , and then put a gun to the other kids parents heads to force them to let their kids take a diocesan placement exam and try to force their kids to attend big bad Trinity after which these same parents complained about it . Or were the parents that complained upset that their kids didn't get to do the same treatment > Is that how it went ?

Longest sentence in BGP history?:D
It was ? Its a record ? Well I'll be .
