Corruption in Frankfort Already

Well blow me down and call me shorty!!!

Policticians wasting money!!!:rolleyes: SHOCKER!!!!!!!!!!

That is pretty bad. But, I will say this: I found out while staying with a friend for several weeks over the summer that it's a very fast-growing area with tons of traffic and new development going in all the time. May not necessarily need it right this minute. But it will. In this case, they are getting it done before the price to do the work goes up in 2-3 years.

That doesn't excuse the fact that it's only a little bit better than a Judge-Executive having the county road department pave his private driveway or street.

Its a high-growth area, but not that huge a traffic area in that particular spot. Certainly not enough to justify this.

I wonder if any of the liberal Central-Kentucky newspapers will chime in on this.:sssh:

Surely you aren't calling a $4,000.00 traffic light corruption?

It is a traffic light for goodness sake, and it will make the road safer. Corruption? The process was greased for it to happen faster, but corruption? Was somebody bribed to get the 4,000.00 dollar traffic light? Did somebody have to lose their job or was threatened to lose their job? Does the new secretary of transportation benefit financially from putting the light in? Did his privately owned company install the light and make 3,000.00 of it? Corruption? You have got to be kidding me.

Kentucky.Com IS THE LEXINGTON HERALD LEADER, so you can throw that conspiracy theory stuff out the window.

I have to agree. I'm by no means giving this guy a pass; he didn't act ethically, but at the end of the day I do not believe this constitutes corruption.

I agree, it's not corruption. It's just a waste of money to benefit one of the new good 'ol boys.

My post had nothing to do with the LHL, nor conspiracy theory; it had a lot more to do with a certain local newspaper that Jim and I are familiar with and know the editor. Thus the smiley.

Somebody needs to take his happy medicine.

I guess that would be me:cry:

my apologies - I just watch too much FOX news and their constant battering of the liberal media. I will try to do better.
