Intramural Hoops

Featured Replies

The top 10 IBL players from CCH's league could compete with some of the All A schools varsity teams. Not knocking their teams, but the level of talent in this league is fantastic. Top players include:

Brent Buckley

Brian Schafer

Danny Niehaus

Andrew LaFever

Mark Mcphillips

Rob Egan

Tyler Holocher

Brandon Nutini

Pat Van Sant

If they're all so good, why aren't they playing high school basketball??

I've never heard of high school intramurals.

Really? At CovCath at least, it is a very, VERY big deal and has been this way for years and years, even going back farther than when I went there. Great time for all the students, and I mean all the students and year in and year out some very good basketball being played. Doesn't surprise me at all about the gym being packed.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to be funny. I really had not ever heard of it until this thread. That is pretty cool. How many students are at CovCath?

500 boys and I'd guess 50%+ play in the IBL. Its a big deal.

I'd say most schools have intramurals. Highlands does. Hmmm wonder what kind of team they could put together?

That is all new to me, but very cool. Really nice for the kids that aren't on the actual team.

It's great to win, but oh boy, is school the pits the next day if you lose! Really the kids have a ball, and again all the kids have a ball.

Do they play other schools, or other kids at CCH?

Each other

Thanks boss.

Sorry. didn't come out right. I'm sort of suprised not everyone knows of intramurals. Its huge in colleges.

I know of it in colleges, just never heard of it in high school. I guess I figured it was more of a SOAS kind a thing.

Lord no. You'd have 78 fouls , 7 fights, and 25% free throw shooting.

I don't know who runs it now. Mike Clines used to run it. Seniors get to referee - and I use that word in the loosest sense possible. Its not often you see a ref hanging out by the scoring table while the ball is down at the other end of the floor.
