To answer one of your posts on another thread earlier Mr. Freeze. Coach Hicks never cussed anyone, it wasn't allowed by coaches or players. See some people have class. Then you have those that want to have class but they keep losing the CL.

The problems at Greenup County start at the very top. Untill the West end "Good ol boys" are all gone it will always be just like it is now, a mess. Who pays the price? The kids!

 

Well, that may have been the policy with the boys at practice, but if you read my post, everyone in the section behind Greenup's bench at Russell heard it and saw the fit he threw in front of his boys.

No Mr. Freeze he didn't cuss. He kicked a bleacher and upset one of Greenups fine attorney's ex wife. Which was worth the price of the ticket. You need to read CURTIS LOWE'S post before yours. They have it right on the money, and this didn't start last week. The Talking Heads at Greenup County had this in the works ever since he got booted at Rock Hill. He's made it clear that Greenup is his dream job. So you can say that coach Leach ended up being a chip in the "Good ol Boys" power game. They don't care who gets hurt or if they destroy someone's life as long as they get what they want in the end. Coach Hicks didn't have attorney's from all over the state calling wanting to take his case for nothing. Once it gets to court it's easy money. Greenup County tax payers money! Coach Leach needs to do like many others have done, get out and get on with his career whille he still has a peace of mind. Good luck to him where ever he goes.

I think the personal reasons has to be dealing with the parents. I think Greenup County has a coach in mind and a few know who it is going to be. I think that he is an assistant in a college across the river from some of the things I have been hearing since last year. It is a sad time when the system goes this way Greenup County use to have a good sports program and now look at it.

 

fyi: Just in case you are thinking of the same person that I am...administrators cannot be coaches at Greenup County Schools.

It's my understanding Sun Tzu that his title in his file is "Dean of Students". So when you ask, this title doesn't even exist in the Greenup County School System.??? The higher ups must have something in mind.

Dean of Students = still an administrator (due to pay scale) = cannot be a coach at Greenup County Schools

The other members of the 63rd would REALLY enjoy playing GCHS with the hinted about coach, just leave other teams coaches alone

The irony is, the above mentioned coach was dismissed from his previous job for not playing the "Right" kids. And now he is going to take the job at Greenup Co. And, for the record, I though he was going to be the coach when Leach was named. I was really surprised. He might be the new coach, he might not, but I wish him and Greenup Co luck.

 

By the way, I would be surprised if he is named the head coach before the season is over, I think he is smart enough to stay away until this season is over. I hope his father-in-law advises him to stay away.

I will say his name Coach Mills would do an excellent job at Greenup Co. However I don't think he would want to give up his job to coach and he is already coaching at the college level. Again I say the best choice from them could be Eric Keeton from the girls side. He has alot of experience on the boy's side as a long time assistant to Coach Flynn at Ashland.

Theres nothing wrong with the Smith or Sutton.

Let's rewind to the last hiring, was any of the following considered?

What is left to say...why would anyone(Greenup) want to let quality people like this go some place else(Raceland)(Rose Hill) then come back and beat you later...don't loose two more that are on the staff now and add to this fantastic plan that keeps hitting GCHS right in the jaw. Hire Sutton and make Smith his assistant before someone else does.

Sutton was interviewed and so was Smith. Floyd was considered, but took the Raceland job. We are glad he did as well. Why would Fraley leave the program that he rebuilt with 2 of the best players in the region to jump into such a mess?

Hampton was chosen for the job but then the community got involved. So it goes..................

First, I want to specify that I am not siding with either party. I know first hand the situation and both, Coach Leach and the player, were in the wrong. But I also know first hand about working in schools, and no matter what a player/student says, the coach/teacher can not respond the way Coach Leach did. It's just not acceptable, as it should not be acceptable for a player to disrespect the coach, either.

 

I thinks it's a terrible situation for the GC players to have to go through two years in a row.

Good luck to the GC boys and hopefully to a fresh start. Just put all the negative comments behind you and work hard (as a team), and things can only get better. And to the player involved in the incident, I think you're a darn good athlete and a lot of your teammates kind of look up to you. So, you keep up the hard work, try to always set a good example, and things will turn around for you and the team. Again, GOOD LUCK GC!!!

 

I agree with you Man-ning. Player's parents backed Leach. Leach approached GC Admin two weeks ago about a resignation. The off court issues back in grayson were troubling him. GC Admin didn't cause this one.

 

The two assist. coaches will get by for now, but woe to the one who takes the head job. Needs to be a mature person who can deal with GCHS kids and eveything that comes with it. M Mills can handle the job but they have to change his title. JMO;)

 

Better days are ahead for GCHS I believe.
