00Rocket28 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I need a Passport by May, so... what do I need to do? I used to have one from back in High School, but I lost it, so I have no clue what to do. Any help would be great!
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 The only thing I know is that it can take a while for those darn things to get processed. So unless you want to pay a high fee to have it moved along quicker, start the process ASAP.
buckman41ss Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I had mine renewed a couple months ago and it only took 6 weeks. From what I understand they are pretty much caught up and it shouldnt be an issue.

Well fine, talk like someone who had it done recently, I'm talking like someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. SHEESH!

shamrock fan Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Did you report the loss of your passport to the government? You're supposed to file a report, as it is technically their property- not yours.:irked: Whether they're caught up or not, I'd get on it right away. Better safe than sorry timewise. And can you also apply for one at any post office now? While travelling a few months ago, someone with me either lost their passport, or had it stolen. We had to file a police report. It was on the weekend and the American Embassy informed me that they were closed except for emergencies. Not really sure, but I figured citizens getting arrested or losing documentation would be the most common emergencies the consulate would handle. I mean, I didn't expect them to put a fire out for me or take out my appendix. We almost didn't get to come home. So where are you going?
thewaterboy Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 We take students to Asia every year, looks as if the quickest thing is to drive to Louisville and get it same day, dont know exact details but....I know it works. We also left for Asia last year, one of the adults lost their passport ans she had to detour through Chicago to get another Passport same day.
NamecipS Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Make sure you have a state issued birth certificate. To many times people take the one issued by the hospital and have to go back and order the state copy.
nkysportslegend Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 They're letting you out of the country?
