John L. wants the Hawaii job

Featured Replies

Nah we could win with that schedule, plus how hard could it be to recruit to Hawaii.

On the surface that would seem to be the case, but I can think of some negatives. The WAC isn't the most prestigious conference to play in, not much exposure as your games are mostly on ESPN 2 at about 1:00 A.M. The football facilities are said to be pretty delapidated.

I'd say after the defection of Jones because of the poor state of the football facilities, Hawaii has the option to not fix things and perhaps let the program flounder or put in the resources to fix up their facilities, attract recruits w/ the chance to play in Hawaii, and bring in a new coach w/ some past success. So in essence not a bad option for John L. if Hawaii chooses to invest more in their program.

A 100% renegade program would suit him well...

My thoughts exactly.

"Have you been there (to Hawai'i)? It's a miserable trip," Smith said in 2004, when, as the Michigan State head coach, he brought the Spartans here. "It's forever. Eleven hours. That's just to get you there. Then, you've got to acclimate and play a game. It's such a lovely trip. It's like a reoccurring bad dream."

Sounds like someone I want to hire to represent my football team and University.

My trip to Hawaii was anything but miserable. Crazy talk!

BB - Please hire me too.

Right, but wasn't Appalachian State a fill in for Hawaii this season on Michigan's schedule?

He would do well in Honolulu. I don't know if they will hire him or not. I will check with my sources. :p :jump:

No John L....I already have a plan for you. Stay here and be a high school coach. You don't need the money...come on pal!!!:lol:

So, Michigan State's coach indirectly or maybe directly had a hand in one of the greatest upsets in sports history at Michigan's expense. I LOVE IT!

I want the job hire me!
