January 6, 200818 yr Great observation. Maybe Tubby put a hex on the program before he left as a parting shot at his detractors. Tubby loved UK basketball...:thumb:It's the 18% that put a Hex on the Program...
January 6, 200818 yr So are we saying Gardner Webb,San Diego, and UAB has more talent than Kentucky? Those losses have to do with the current coach and not the previous coach. Soulds like Tubby to me...
January 6, 200818 yr I do understand that. I'm saying that you can put the blame wherever you want to twist it. Tubby can't recruit the right talent/ BCG can't coach his way out of a brown paper bag/etc. Everyone has a choice. We're still crappy. AND to another post, I don't think Tubby would have won that many more games with this bunch, either. GW and possibly SD, but there is little talent here, and BCG did get Patterson. Where would UK be without him this year? He is BCG's only recruit and has made the team better. The only other BCG guy left. With or without Tubby, everyone knew what was coming when Morriss said yes to the $$$$$$! (And, before everyone ruins their underwear, yes, I know that PP was still looking at UK while OTS was here, but does anyone have any solid proof that he was coming here? We always hear it was happening, but there is no way to prove it. BCG did get him.)

I also Believe it was time for a Change at UK...Not because what we had was not good enough...It was just time for Change...:thumb:
January 6, 200818 yr Dish or support Tubby Smith it doesn't matter, he brought in alot of players not up to the challenge of D-1 basketball, some of the ones up to the challenge have been hurt, some were not used to working hard and having their way and still playing, a wise Georgia man phoned me when Tubby left to come to Ky, he said " We are glad he left, he will bring down Ky basketball ." in a way I guess he has.
January 6, 200818 yr Tubby Smith has NOT ruined anything, not along the Kentucky Basketball Program. So folks quit blaming Tubby for every loss on this season team. This is really getting so old, that I myself have aged ten years in the last six months.
January 6, 200818 yr That's my point. We can think, have inside information, believe it will/would have happened, but we will never know. We did, however, know that Morriss was gone and there was a good chance that the other recruits could fall through and we would get a couple more Bobby Perry's or (shudder) Sheray Thomas' in their place. This was going to be a train wreck season regardless. Tubby or BCG was facing a season of terrible talent with the exception of one or two. I figure I'll write this season off as a learning experience and see what happens after a full season/off season for BCG.

So has Georgia Basketball been better off without Tubby?
January 6, 200818 yr This gets so old. How is this Tubby's fault? How???????????????? Tubby is at MINNESOTA, winning games. He isn't at KENTUCKY, losing games. Get over it people. This isn't Tubby Smith's fault at all. If Tubby was coaching this Kentucky team this year, there is no way they are this bad. But people would still be hounding him about not going 35-0 every year and winning national championships. It gets old...
January 6, 200818 yr UK is losing to less talented teams, that the current coachs fault not the previous coach. Tubby didnt recruit all americans every year but this team is alot better than 6-7. Im not a Tubby fan but he won 20games a year and made the tournament, BillyG will be lucky to win 10 or make the NIT.
