Woodson: Stock Up/Stock Down??

Featured Replies

Edward Scissorhands could throw for 300 yards a game in that offense. I saw him play 3-4 times, if he's over 200 lbs. its with equipment on--and then only barely, wait and see what he measures out to at the combine. Chang put up similar numbers and he's never even been on an NFL roster. Brennan will get drafted but it won't be in the first round and I don't ever see him being a starter in the NFL. College numbers mean little, did you see Brady's college stats?

I didn't say he would go in the first round. He will be selected by someone, somewhere. Brennan is a good QB. He may never be a starter, but he could be a solid back up for someone, somewhere. And yes, did you not? Brady started 25 games at Michigan, he won 20 of them. He was an all Big 10 selection 2 times. In 1999 he helped Michigan to a 10-2 record, while throwing for 2,586 passing yards and 20 TD's. He also had a HUGE Orange Bowl against Arkansas...

Brennan is not 6'1, or 185. Brennan is 6'3 and is over 200 lbs. Hey, those "horrible" mechanics must have worked this year, did you see his numbers?

Did you see the defenses he was playing against?

He was All Big 10 HONORABLE MENTION, not on either the first or second team. Those numbers are around 200 yards a game and a little over a touchdown and a half a game--they certainly gave no indication of what he would be in the pros.

Those two just aren't very consistent. Booty did miss 3 games this season. He had a lot better year last year.

Henne missed games as well. Henne didn't even break 2,000 yards.

Brennan should be a top QB choice if you ask me. I don't care about the system he is in or whatever, he is a GOOD player and should play at the next level. Also Paul Smith from Tulsa. He threw for over 4,700 yards, and 42 TD's.

What about this? There's supposed to be at least 3-4 quarterbacks taken in the first round. If you believe that Brennan should be a top QB choice then you must believe that he'll go in the first round. Believing that Brennan will go that early is about like believing that it was Troy Smith's performance in the Florida game that prevented him from going in the first round. Troy Smith and Brennan's stock is lower mailnly because of their size--that trumps any stats that they accumulated in college. Brennan reminds me of Ken Dorsey, just too light in the saddle to stand up to NFL hits.

Mel Kiper doesn't even think Woodson is a top 5 QB....I think he's wrong. I think Woodson should be the 3rd QB drafted.

It's possible he could drop out of the Top 5, but, I think unlikely. He's got the size, arm strength and enough mobility to offset a few of his weaknesses. I think he's still 3rd or 4th on the board. You just don't see that many QBs with his gifts...

Honestly, if i have the luxury of sitting a young QB for a year or 2, Woodson is the choice. Best upside, good decision maker leader. He does have a horrible delivery as his wrist actually ducks beneath his elbow, and does take too many sacks, but this can be worked on. Atleast he's not Grossman, throwing for 5 picks a game. He makes great decisions at the line, i think that he thinks the game as well as any QB in this years draft.

That said, a QB needy team should take Brohm, he could probably be a decent starter right away. He is usually very accurate.

As for Ryan, he is the most overrated QB on the board. I think Henne, Booty, and Brennan are awful prospects, but i would take them all over him. Nothing he does is impressive to me.

For the top QB's the workouts will be huge, dont forget about the wonderlic testing as well.

I say QB's drated goes something like this... Brohm, Ryan( someone will be sorry), Woodson, Brennan, Henne. Later on, I would look at Dixon if he decides he wants to play football instead of baseball. I think in 3 or 4 years, he could be an excellent Qb.

Woodson did nothing to hurt his draft placement, alot of it has to do with potential an he had that before the Music City Bowl and left that game with it.
