I think everyone is jumping the gun too quick. Nicholas, Deming, and Bracken Co. all have talented teams. While the odds definitely go to the upper bracket, a lower bracket win is not impossible. I think this is closer than you think.

Region 1 is wide open, with the main contenders being Community Christian, Murray, Fulton County and St. Mary. None of them will be a factor in the state tournament.

Owsley beat Buckhorn, then Buckhorn beat Hazard, then Owsley lost to Hazard.

 

I think that one of these three teams will go to Richmond.

NCC in the 9th!!

Just curious, in looking at the brackets for the all A in the ninth region, you have the top ranked teams including NCC, Holy Cross, Ludlow, and ST Henry all grouped together in a bracket. You also have NCC playing Holy Cross (arguably the best 2 A teams in the region) in round 1 with the winner then playing Beechwood (Beechwood has BUY in round 1). In the other bracket you have Newport,Bellevue,Dayton and Villa grouped together. Villa has a Buy in round 1 & 2, with a single win putting them in the Championship game. It's quite obvious you will not have the two top teams in the Finals. How are these brackets decided upon ??? It certainly can't be "seated" ?????

 

Tourney is a blind draw.

Raceland would be among the favorites. It is really a tossup between Raceland, Elliott, and Menifee. Depends on whose night it is. Elliott has beaten Raceland by 6 and Raceland has beaten Menifee by 4.

I would have to agree. In the 16th I think Raceland will be the favorite. Elliott is a nice hard working team, and have already beaten Raceland. Raceland beat Menifee by 4 in overtime, but let Raceland get healthy and I think they will be a different team. Plus the players that have gotten needed experience up to this point will do nothing but add depth to the bench. So I would guess Raceland with Elliott and Menifee slugging it out for second. Elliott and Menifee went to overtime last year in the tourney. So it will be a good one.

Raceland and Elliott play in the 1st round and who ever wins that game will play Menifee in the finals and I look for Elliott to come out on top.
