December 12, 200718 yr I figured it would only be a matter of time before the big boys came calling for him. That would be a sweet fit and sway me to pull for the Tigers a little more.
December 12, 200718 yr The funny thing about Franklin is that I truly think he was just as guilty as Mumme, Bassette and others. Folks around the state don't say anything bad about this guy. He sold out his buddy Hal and now is making millions off Mumme's offense. Bust of luck to Tony.

It starts at BYU then you go to shotgun with Mumme + keeping the X+Y on the same side of the field for more practice reps etc. Tony put more a no huddle to it and figured out how to make some BIG time $$ off of it. I'm just excited to maybe see the offense back in the SEC!
December 12, 200718 yr I don't see Tuberville supporting this move at all... Tuberville is a ball control coach that would rather win a game 7-6 than 42-41, this decision to interview Franklin is a sign of pressure on Tuberville to make some changes or find a new place to call home...

I thought the SEC coaches pretty much had this offense figured out by the time Mumme left.

Why can't they win 42-7? Seeing Auburn spread it out would play with my sight!! :creepy:

I thought the SEC coaches pretty much had this offense figured out by the time Mumme left. Since Auburn was 101st in offense, looks like the SEC figured out their current offense.

December 12, 200718 yr This is a done deal. Coach Franklin will make this official at noon today. Looks like I'll be changing my avatar!! Unlike some people on this board, I know Coach Franklin and I am happy to see such a great person take a HUGE step up the coaching ladder.
December 12, 200718 yr I really thought we might see him at Georgia Tech as OC or Ole Miss...I don't really know how things will work at Auburn, but I do know they aren't good enough to run up the middle everytime in the SEC as of late. I guarantee that Auburn offense will rank in the top 50 next year! Congrats and good luck to Tony!

Seeing Auburn spread it out would play with my sight!! :creepy: Tuberville has always felt high octain offenses sell out the defense, he would much rather pound the ball and take the game over in the fourth qtr, thats his style and is easy for him to manage, I'm not sure how well he'll manage games that turn in to shootouts...

Well, he might want to start figuring it out!
