December 29, 200718 yr I just looked up the episode and no one was from Bowling Green. I thank God they caught these guys that could have actually come to Bowling Green to do whatever to a little kid or young teenager....

December 29, 200718 yr I think it's a matter of time before Chris Hansen jumps out of a door and one of pervs puts two bullets into him on TV. I don't care how many officers he has waiting to jump out of closet doors. He's going to humiliate the wrong guy one of these days and it's going to end tragic. I've thought the same thing. There's no way they know what these guys are carrying when they arrive at the houses. One could quickly pull a gun and do some serious damage before anything could be done. Hansen must really be a brave person because I know he has to realize that is a possibilty. Are ratings that important?

Conan O'Brian did a skit on it too, with Chris Hansen. It was pretty funny. Conan ran from the house and jumped a hedge, I believe.
December 29, 200718 yr I don't care to watch the show but agree with and support the methods they use to get these sickos off the streets. I wonder if they wouldn't catch more if the show isn't broadcast. However, I'm sure they feel some of these guys watch the show and will think twice and maybe not show up. But they are still talking to 13 year olds on the internet and that is sad.

I've heard that some states won't cooperate with NBC as their legal counsels feel that this is entrapment by adults, that is to say the adults posing as kids are able to get the sickos to do things that a real 13 yr-old would not. I've also heard that some defense attorneys are starting to win some of these cases arguing that their client was not soliciting a child but rather an adult that they thought was posing as a child. Anyone know if these things are true or not? BTW, I've made my adolescent watch it with me. According to KRS, if a person engages in this conduct, using electronic communication with a child, or a POLICE OFFICER posing as a child he has committed a crime. The problem is these guys aren't police officers. There is a legal arguement there.

December 30, 200718 yr Kentucky has a strict law as to the definition of "police officer". In Kentucky you have to be licensed, this means to be academy trained. I've seen these guys on Dateline, I don't think they have the training or could be trained to KY standards. I really don't like this for the purpose of prosecution, although it is very entertaining. I don't trust the bunch from Perverted Justice.
