Ohio State's offense is pretty solid my friend. If Wells can have a good game, and Boeckman can come back along, the Buck's will have no problem scoring in the 30's. I agree, it may be a low scoring game, but the Buck's have shown that they can score up there...

You should know that I only root for the Bucks in this game because my hatred for the arrogance of many fans of the SEC outweighs my birthright of hating OSU.

Should be a good game. …. OSU is going to use last year, and the “we are slow" approach to fire them up. I have already heard it from several OsU fans, "OSU shouldn’t be in the game, we have no speed, Lsu is the best" yadda yadda. Honestly tired hearing that card being played. OSU is going to play the same role they played in 02, IMO neither team is going to be fooled.

OsU IMO matches up very well with LSU, and are mirror images of each other if you ask me. Conventional offense, stellar defense and decent SPT play. OsU is just as speedy as Lsu is in the skilled starters, so I don’t buy into that crap. I think certain so called CFB guys try to play that up” Cough, Cough… Herbstreit” Overall team speed, LSU might have them but only 11 can play at a time.

 

LSU will try to play a lot of Cover 0 (man coverage) against OsU. If the LSU front 4 doesn't get pressure, OsU will torch them with the crossing routes, outs, and the hitches they run to death, just like UK did. OsU will try to establish Beanie Wells early and often, and only throw when it warrants it.

Gholson IMO will have a big game as I look for the OsU defensive staff to use him off the edge (obviously) and put him in coverage some.

 

LSU offense runs the 2 back, smash mouth with a bus load of RB's attack. LSU like OsU wants to establish a running game; personally I don’t think they can. That IMO plays right into the strength of OsU.

Ryan Perrilloux is going to come in and run some spread sets but his lack of a throwing threat could hurt them. I don’t think OsU will be fooled like they were with Tebow last year. Lsu has big play capabilities at the WR position but have been prone to drops all year, see the UK game (#1 dropped what had to be 8 balls). Doucet needs to have a big game for Lsu and is finally healthy as is LSU for the really the first time since the Vtech game.

Lsu has definitely been tested far more then OsU has this year and comes away with two losses because of it, that could play roll but………

All that being said the game will come down to coaching, IMO. I don't see the OSU staff getting out coached again this year. Tressell is conservative and Miles is a go getter.

 

Long and windy post but weighing in really for the first time on this game…..Although it pains me to say it I think OSU wins in a close one, 21- 17.

That's just what I was thinking about OSU fans. As much as I hate to say this I think LSU is the more talented team, but I think Tressell will out coach Miles, which in my opinion isn't that hard to do. I sure hope LSU wins, but I'm not so sure.

I certainly agree with you on the coaching advantage (of course it is jmo but there aren't too many that "will outcoach" Tressel). IMO Mile's arrogance in some play calling is just one thing that will cost him this game, I sure hope so anyway.

I am an Ohio State Football fan and a SEC fan as well, imo it is possible to be both by the way .

So....as a Buckeye fan I can say that I certainly wish that he (Mile's) would had went to Michigan .

Just by looking at the polls I think most people here think that LSU is the better/more talented team of the two. No one has OSU blowing them out. Most of the votes are going to LSU winnin in a blowout, close, or OSU winning barely.

 

Even if OSU is #1, I think most people on here and the country recognize the fact that LSU is better than OSU...... but that may not neccesarily reflect in the final score.

 

LSU has been hit by a never ending string of injuries this year and they STILL managed to win the SEC.

 

With the break from play it has allowed them to get healthy and I think the defense they had in the beginning season will show up on Monday Night.
