Byrant Gumble is the worst!

Featured Replies

It's official! He is the worst football announcer I have ever heard. I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but you could stick my wife up in the booth with Chris and she would know just as much about what is going on! Steve Smith with 9 carries tonight. Dallas has the ball on the 50 with 1:45 left before the half and he says he expects them to be conservative as they shouldn't be able to score any points before the half. It goes on and on! It's painful and I pat Collinsworth on the back for hanging in there with him! As much as the NFL has put into the NFL Network games you would think they would bring ANYBODY other than him in! Gilbert Godfreid(sp) would give him a serious run for his money as to the two guys that could make you turn a football game off!

I agree. They couldn't do any worse unless they brought Kyle Macy onboard.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!!!

I have felt this way since he started on the NFL network. How can his brother be so good and he be so terrible! Dare I say this is a Peyton-Eli situation?

Kind of like the Danny DeVito vs. Arnold Schwarenegger in Twins.

I remember way back in the day when he was the host on one of those pre-game shows and he did a very good job. I would agree now that he is absolutely terrible. He seems very unprepared.

YES!!!!

Ive been saying this ever since the first NFL network on location game was aired. He is the absolute worst ever, and it doesnt help with Collinsworth complementing him. He was a good ball player but stinks at announcing IMO.

I never thought anyone could make John Madden look good in the booth until I started watching games on NFL Network.

Well I guess I'm weird because I love Madden and can't stand Gumble...:D

I love Madden too, and I also can't stand Gumble. Madden is just so dumb that you have to like him, but he still doesn't make himself look good in the booth. Gumble is so bad that it makes Madden sound smart.

Wait a second...:sssh:

He said Al Gore when talking about Frank Gore during the Bengals/49ers game

He's a talking head reporter. He may be a good interviewer and his TV show may be good but play-by-play is not as easy as it may look to some. That said, I have no idea how the NFL Network could justify bringing him back THIS season, much less next season (if he IS back next season, we can all assume that he has pictures of someone).

Bryant says the Cowboys have a new quarterback
