SEC Player of the Year

Featured Replies

Lofton will get the award as long as the Vols keep winning. He's averaging right 15pts a game. His average will go up come SEC play.

So, you give the award to someone averaging 15 points a game over someone averaging 20 pts and 10 rbs?

How could a guy averaging a little over 15 points a game be the SEC player of the year? By years end, if Chris can have some big time games, he may be the player of the year. As for right now, I would go with either Shan Foster ( 20.3 ppg - 4.7 rebounds ) or his teammate Andrew Oglivy ( 19.5 ppg - 6.6 rpg ). Richard Hendrix could be in the mix as well, he is putting up 18 points a game and close to 11 rebounds...

Patterson is putting up better numbers than Lofton, I agree.

Geez, everyone picks Lofton and he isn't even doing good this year. Shows that he is everyone's safe pick!

Before anyone tries to justify picking Lofton you might want to check the stats.

Lofton is shooting 35% from the field and Joe Crawford is shooting 46% from the field. For those saying it's because Joe hasn't played near as much and has taken less shots, Crawford has just taken 4 less shots than Lofton this season.

Chris Lofton is averaging 15.3ppg(13th in SEC) while Joe Crawford is averaging 18.2ppg and Patrick Patterson is averaging 16.4ppg.

Lofton ranks 2nd in 3pt field goals in the SEC but he has taken almost 20 more 3's than any other player.

LOFTON IS NOT SEC POY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Com on guys you're better than that!

There are a lot of guys putting up better numbers than Lofton...

Thus far I'd go with Richard Hendrix 19.7 ppg & 10.4 rpg.

Yeah, he has been having a pretty good year. Foster and Oglivy from Vanderbilt should also be up there...

The year is not over yet. Lofton will get his numbers up as teams will no longer be a able to focus on him alone. JP prince is an outstanding player along with Jajuan Smith and Tyler Smith. Lofton will get his average up to 20 a game and the Vols will win the SEC out right. Lofton will be your POY.

Mark it Down!

Mark it Down!

So what you're indirectly saying is.. It's not going to happen? :p

Now, That I think about it ....yes:lol:

To date, I would have to say Foster from Vandy or Hendrix from Alabama.

I don't know. I haven't seen any of them play a game aside from UK.

I would go with Patterson or Lofton, though. It'll probably end up being Lofton.

Lofton

Lofton.

Lofton.

Lofton

How???

We'll see what happens during conference play. Right now I would say Foster or Hendrix.
