January 25, 201115 yr It was a one hit wonder for them, correct. But can you tell me who wrote the song originally? It seems to me that it may have been a real old song that was redone several times. I think I read one time that it was first done in some form a couple hundred years ago, back when there were muskets and the song was about loading the musket and shooting it. I don't know. That sounds crazy but I think I read that somewhere.
January 25, 201115 yr Not sure if these qualify, and I may have missed them: In-a-Gadda-da-Vida, Iron Butterfly (all the neighborhood garage bands had this in their repertoire; gave the drummer a chance to shine) They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Ha, Napoleon XIV (the flip side of the single played it backwards) Indiana Wants Me, R. Dean Taylor, as melodramatic a piece of tripe as you'd ever want to hear. Sometimes folks are one-hit wonders for a reason.
