Is it perfectly trimmed, with matching ornaments and color coordinated?

 

Is it a hodgepodge of family memories collected over the years?

 

Mine is the latter. Every year I buy an ornament for each of my kids that reminds me of them. I have a lot of football players hanging on my tree. :lol: I have a leprechaun santa....I have all the ornaments from my childhood my mother bought me over the years...I have all the ornaments the kids made in school....and I have some beautiful ornaments I've been given over the years.

 

But more often than not, I go to a friend's house, and their tree is perfectly trimmed in perfectly matching ornamentation, color coordinated, with lovely bows, or something like that. It looks like a magazine.

 

What kind of tree do you have?

We grew up with the hodgepodge....but OUR tree has all white lights, and three different kinds of ornaments, all color coordinated, along with our stockings, tree skirt, et al.

I have two trees one of each. My perfectly trimmed tree is 12 feet tall, white lights with 400 red, white, and silver ornaments. No garland or icicles allowed.

Family tree multi-colored lights all the kids ornaments and lots of other fun ones.

Sounds like my house, except the real tree. The RockSon is allergic, so we have an artificial one so he can breathe through Christmas.

My brother and I get a new ornament every year and my mom tends to find a way to put more and more lights on the tree each year.

This is our tree. Actually, we buy a real tree every year and it doesn't matter how deformed it is when we buy it it always looks the same when I'm done decorating. The big old fashioned lights, even a strand of bubble lights. I have some really nice ornaments, I have ornaments from my grandmother, and then I have all my bluebird ornaments. This year someone mentioned to me that if you tie a ribbon on your kids sports buttons, you know, those buttons the moms wear to all the games that have the pic. of your kid in his or her uni., and hang them on the tree, they make pretty cool ornaments. I did this and I love it. And of course I have to have tinsel. You know the strands not the rope stuff. The icicle kind. Oh and I have every hand made ornament my kids ever made right there next to the Chrisipher Radko ornaments.

My mom put up a new tree this year and she has decorated it with purple and silver colors. I have yet to see it!

We have the hodge podge. As for lights, we used to have the giant, multi-color glass lights of doom. Then we went to small multi-color plastic lights. Now we have a tree with little white lights already attached. Can you tell how I feel about little white lights? :irked:

 

We have enough ornaments to fill a half dozen trees. The hardest part of putting up the tree is battling over which ornaments make the cut for that year. :lol:

Somehow Henry I pictured your tree to have alot of blue and white lights with 17 large ornaments.
