December 17, 200718 yr Bobby Bowden coached at WVU in the late 60's and early 70's. Going to WVU would be a homecoming, of sorts, for Terry.
December 17, 200718 yr O.K., here we go. Bobby Bowden resigns/retires from FSU (FSU has aleady named J. Fischer as head coach when Bobby retires). Bobby Bowden then goes to WVU along with Terry. Bobby is the head coach for a year (just bc he got his coaching start there) to make it go full cirlce and turns the reigns over to Terry and then goes into full time retirement. Ain't gonna happen but it sounds good.
December 17, 200718 yr Terry Bowden Tommy Bowden Jimbo Fisher Todd Graham Mike Locksley Mel Tucker Calvin Magee
December 18, 200718 yr I don' think App State's coach leaves. It is either going to be Bowden or Fisher I think. Coker will take the SMU job.
December 18, 200718 yr FSU must pay Jimbo Fisher 2.5 mil if they don't name him head coach when Bowden steps down. Fisher must pay FSU 2.5 mil, if he leaves before that time..UNLESS he leaves for the West Virginia job. Then he owes nothing.:sssh:
December 18, 200718 yr Can someone explain why anyone would hire Terry Bowden? Just because your last name is Bowden doesn't mean you can coach.
December 18, 200718 yr Actually at this point, I would say that if your name if Bowden, you can not coach..
December 18, 200718 yr Terry Bowden is a former Mountaineer running back. He led Auburn and Samford to combined records of 98-33-2 as a head coach.

He led Auburn and Samford to combined records of 98-33-2 as a head coach. that's a great record, but also came a million years ago.....as a U of L fan I hope it's not Bowden, as the Big East needs a huge pick at coach....here's to Doc Holliday...
December 18, 200718 yr Bowden says he's very interested in job at West Virginia http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3158563 "I made a full commitment to get back into coaching almost two years ago. Coming home to West Virginia would obviously be the dream job for me," Bowden, a college football analyst on radio and for Yahoo! Sports, said in a statement released by his publicist.

That's what I'm thinking as well. This statement may not be popular on this site, but I believe (as far as national preception) that WVA was the flagship member of the remains on the Big East. Whether deserved or not they have been questioned recently as to whether they are deserving on a BCS bid. With UL's collapse this season, Rutgers taking a step back, and now RR leaving, IMO the Beast needs WVA to make a very strong hire for the sake of the conference.
