What about Remember the Titans.

The community and players are against him and he surpasses it all and teaches his players to play as a team and stick up for each other. There were obstacles to overcome, but some of that is overexaggerated in the movie. Also, I find it hard to consider them underdogs, I mean they had 2 All-Americans on that team. 1 would have been impressive enough but 2 is just amazing.

EXACTLY!

 

In contrast, Rudy was Five foot nothin', weighed a hundred and nothin', without a SPECK of athletic ability.

 

But for 2 years he hung in there with the best football program in the country.

And who could forget the standout performances of the actors that portrayed Henry Castro, Brad Smith, Frankie Glascoe, and Wayne Hilton. Oscar worthy.

But my mind says RTT.

The stats prove that although they were a great team, it wasn't a long shot to win. They were probably the favorites to win it all that year.

If the question was "best true story" instead of "best movie", I'd be more inclined to go with Rudy... But it's not, so RTT it is.

I know it will not, but I wish Rudy could win this one. I tear up everytime I watch it.

 

RTT has a good storyline, but some of the acting is terrible and too many cliche moments for me.

RTT is the best sports movie ever.
