I hate seeing coaches run kids for punishment. Put a ball in their hand and make it some skill development along with the conditioning.

 

Depends. It is great for grabbing their attention when their attention is wandering. I am not talking 30 minutes.

 

Put them on the line and run 1-2 times and their attention in that 5 minutes gets refocused back on the task at hand.

I heard these called "Rat Races".

"Shuttle runs" in ohio.....

 

And in Florida.

Mostly called suicides, but have heard them called "Quarters."

That's funny you say that. I've heard another coach call it that and the connection might be Coach Shields. Did he call them Special Ks?

In Indiana, we called them "Michigan Staters"

Puke Drills, is the term I hear.
