Reds listening to offers for Josh Hamilton

Featured Replies

Per mlbtraderumors.com the Reds are willing to part with Hamilton and Encarnacion but not to an NL Central team. Wonder who the Reds would be most likely to send him to?

There were some talks about getting Bedard but they wanted Bruce to be part of the deal.

Shopping Hamilton? Shocking. I can't believe it... :walk:

• The Cubs don't have much hope of prying loose center fielder Josh Hamilton from Cincinnati. The Reds are willing to trade Hamilton, but they would prefer not to deal him to another club in the National League Central.

I'd trade him for Marshall in a minute...

Another mlbtradrumors story has the Reds seriously trying to pry Bedard away from the O's. A starting package has the Reds sending Votto, Bailey, and another top prospect may interest the O's.

^Just started a thread about that....I'm just extremely pleased that the Reds are at least appearing to actively be pursuing some big names this offseason.

Bye Josh.

Bye Homer.

Bye Joey.

I hope the Mets land Bedard... It's my understanding they have an offer on the table.

Maybe I'm the only one, but if the Reds could land Bedard, I'd part with anyone not named Harang, Bruce, or Cueto (sp?)...

Maybe I missed this, but why are the Reds shopping Hamilton? Are they fearful of a drug relapse and don't want to be left with nothing?

Because they'll need to give up talent to get good pitching, and I'd rather get rid of him than Bruce or Dunn.

Trading Hamilton would be huge mistake. He has way to much upside to let go right now.

IF and ONLY IF they pull one off. I would be very perturbed with all the rumoring and then everything falls through and they are back to lacking starting pitching to contend.
