CovCath @ Mason County 12-7-07

Featured Replies

I would not expect a huge student body turnout for this one. They'll still represent but nothing near (as in probably about half) of what was at the LC game.

I agree with cshs81 on the number of Crazies that might show up for the Mason County game. Personally if my daughter were still in HS, I wouldn't allow her to drive on the AA at night to and from Mason County and my guess is that a lot of the Crazies parents, will be saying the same thing....

Coach Listerman on his post game interview show thanked the Seniors for getting out the student body, as earlier in the week he challenged them to read the 2004 USA Today article where CovCath was selected as the 13 best place to go and watch a high school basketball game in the USA... Coach L told the Seniors that it was their responsibility to uphold that tradition and after the LexCath game, he told them he was very proud of them for getting the job done....

Coach Listerman is a very classy guy and a coach that I don't think always gets the credit he deserves. Everyone just thinks that because he is at CCH and he has all these boys to choose from that he should win the 9th region year and year. The fact is that someone has to put all the pieces together to keep the CCH tradition alive and going and I think Coach Listerman does that far better then those outside the CCH want to give him credit for. Good luck CCH and Coach Listerman.

CCH student body should be pretty strong. MC has offered free tickets to any CCH student who wants to come and the school is working on getting a few bus's to take them down. Should be a dandy.

Mighty nice offer from MC.:dancingpa

Does Mason County realize that when CovCath played Johnson Central last year in Football, CovCath charted nine busses of which four or five (I think), were just full of NDA/CovCath students that attended that game? Could wind up costing MC some money.... :D:ylsuper:

Wow, that would be really great. Haven't seen the Cov Cath fans "in action", have heard nothing but great things about them. Would love to see the kids at the game. Very nice offer by Mason Co.

Coach L would tell you that a lot of thanks should also go to Coach Tieman who is now in his forty first year of teaching at CovCath. Coach T if you add in his four years of attending CovCath as a student, has now been at CovCath for an amazing forty five years.....WOW!!!! :thumb:

Anyone planning on going better get there early.......First home game of the season for Mason Co. and a lot of hype for the Royals. People will be coming out of the woodwork to see.

The place will be rockin' !

I think there will be plenty of seats for people as it holds around 5500:D.But you are right the crowds will be big this year.

And I take it that Mason is going to let their own students in free as well? HAHA... I highly doubt it. But, I hope Cov. Cath does bring a good student body, it will make the game that much better!

:madman: can't wait to see this game..........

Darius has another career high in this one and the Royals win by 15+!

Beyond the x's and o's, Cov. Cath. is honored to have their players, fans and alumni represented by Coach Listerman, Coach Tieman and staff. Mason County is likely to be a bit much for the Colonels. Royals by 7 or so, and...(beat Highlands).

I'm not suprised about the Mason fans for thinking this game will be a blowout (as indicated by all the 15+ comments), but CovCath beating LexCath was an upset, but a minor one. This CovCath team is very good and should be much better than last year's team. It will be interesting to see how they guard Darius, but I believe the outcome of this game will be within 10 points.

Should be a close, hard-fought game.

Tempo, tempo, tempo!

Do they put Maile on him to start the game and dog him and then switch off with Grimes when Maile gets tired? Two great defenders who are decent sized and can possibly cause Miller to have to give it up. Problem is Mason has such a strong supporting cast if this does happen and Miller doesnt get frustrated it could be a long night.

Not all of the mason fans predicted a blowout, post number 2 I picked my Royals to win only by 5. Hope it is more, but I think CovCath will play close to

Mason.

I would assume put Grimes on Miller. I feel like he's just a tougher player/defender than Maile. Might have to make it to this game.
