Cawoodball player Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 What all teams in Easter and Central Kentucky play Freshman games? It doesn't seem like there are a lot of teams who have enough freshmen to play seperate games.
Park1221 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Boyle County had an excellent freshmen team, as did Lex Cath.

That's been a problem in Harlan County, but I doubt it's an issue in most places, even in eastern Kentucky. The Black Bears should be able to put together a 10-game freshman schedule if they want.

happy ol' dad Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 We have a team in Ashland aswell as Russell that I know of.
Trenches07 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I am pretty sure Bell had atleast 8 games this year.
Sun Tzu Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Greenup County Freshmen played against Ashland, Russell, Boyd County, Coal Grove (OH), Lawrence County, and Raceland.
3wishes Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Rockcastle County has had a 10 game Freshmen schedule since at least 1990. They have also had a 10 game JV schedule for longer than that.
wcj800 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Owensboro had a freshman team as well that lost to Louisville PRP then ran the table after that. This group for Owensboro may be the next team to make a run. They shutout Bowling Green freshman this year and also did not give up many points at all after the lose to PRP.
ZEKE Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Mason County Freshman played 8 games and only lost the last game in OT by a field goal in the driving rain.
Hamilton Joe Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Smaller schools in NKY are having a hard time fielding teams that are strictly freshmen and instead they are combining 9th and 10th graders to play a JV type schedule. The numbers are down in some of these communities and at least in some instances there appears to be a general apathy with kids wanting to play football at the freshmen and high school level.
Ram Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Raceland has a freshman team, sometimes they play a 5 or 6 game schedule, and sometimes they play a 10 game schedule, I am not sure if that is just because of scheduling conflicts or not, but they normally have enough to form a team.
Benz_Trophies Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Boyle County had an excellent freshmen team, as did Lex Cath. Boyle also beat Trinity at Butler HS in a Bowl Game In Triple Overtime. They also beat Lex. Cath at Lex. Cath, 20-3. They had only one home game, and did very well, the future is bright for them. Boyle also had some games canceled on them, (they were scheduled to play Mercer twice, they blew them out the first game, Mercer couldn't play the second time.)
