A simple question, who is the Most Valuable Player in the NFL this season?

I have listened to them argue back and forth about this on ESPN for a little while and was wondering what your take is? IMO the two frontrunners at this stage are Tom Brady and Brett Favre but you can make a case for whoever you like.

Brady of course has the incredible statistics this season, but I believe the most valuable player to his team this season is Brett Favre. Brady has his cast of pro bowlers, but Favre is leading his team to a similiar record with a very young and unheralded group of players.

Lets hear it!

Exactly how I feel about it. Brady plays on a great team. Favre makes his team great.

Brady

He, Favre, Manning, and a few others are all players who if you took them away from their team, their teams wouldn't be sniffing contention. So, you give the MVP to the player who is currently on pace to obliterate the greatest season ever by a QB. How can you not?

If you were basing it on anything else, then give it to Albert Haynesworth...the Titans were 6-2 with one of the best defenses in the NFL when he was playing. Since he's been out...they're allowing over 32 ppg. They hadn't allowed one hundred yards rushing all season...without him, they've given up 166 to the Jags, 166 to the Broncos, and 148 to the Bengals, losing all three to drop to 6-5.

Seriously, if you can make a more factual case for MVP, I want to hear it. Giving it to Favre and Brady and those guys is based on what we think would happen if they didn't play. And, that's fine with me. I'd vote for Brady. I just think the evidence for a guy like Haynesworth is really convincing. Of course, DT's don't win MVP's...even when they're healthy.

Give it to the WR doing the same thing at the WR position.

Question on Brady, is he doing that because of having Moss as a weapon? If so, why is it not Moss?

The one Sports Reporter from the Boston Globe said in Boston, they think the Patriots offense success is directly attributed to Moss being added to the team.

A few of those TD's and completions of Brady's were balls thrown up and let Moss fight off the DB AND safety to catch it. More Moss than Brady.

Favre is needed more for his team. But Brady has better #'s. Its a tough call. IMO I don't think that Favre can win it, it would be tough to vote against Brady if they go 16-0.

Is Brady's performance the difference between last year's Pats and this year's? Or is it the presence of Randy Moss?

Exactly. Favre is the most valuable. Favre is the engine that is keeping Green Bay winning. Nothing against Brady, Moss, or Manning, but you could replace them and the team would still be decent. But, with the Packers, you take Favre away and they are not nearly as good. Plus, look at who is holding virtually every NFL record for QB's, how can you say that Favre is not the best QB in the game. Manning may own many of the records in the future, but not right now. In my order:

1. Favre

2. Manning

3. Brady

4. Moss

5. Romo

It's the addition of Moss, Welker and Stallworth. It also didn't hurt to have Sammy Morris take over the running game when Maroney got hurt.

Favre needs to beat the Cowboys for me to really consider him over Brady. Both teams only have a couple of wins over winning teams, but the Pats do have wins over the Cowboys and Colts. Just like Mr. Football in KY, competition matters. So if Favre can't lead his team over the Cowboys, give it to Brady.

Favre's team isn't New England but they are very good (especially the defense). NE is better but not THAT much better to justify Brady's numbers being THAT much better. Got to give it to Brady.
