Favre's team isn't New England but they are very good (especially the defense). NE is better but not THAT much better to justify Brady's numbers being THAT much better. Got to give it to Brady.

Brady will win. Easily...they're not going to give the NFL MVP to anyone else when Brady is likely going to set the bar for QB's in a single season and lead his team to a 15-1 record (at worst).

If Favre is the only reason Green Bay is winning, why haven't they been rolling along for the last two or three seasons...instead of struggling and subjecting us to the torture that is the "Brett Favre Retirement Tour". Brady has been putting up above average numbers with below average receivers and winning consistently...now that he has weapons around him, he's on a record setting pace and obliterating the league. I'm completely shocked that the vote is almost 50/50.

Exactly. Favre is the most valuable. Favre is the engine that is keeping Green Bay winning. Nothing against Brady, Moss, or Manning, but you could replace them and the team would still be decent. But, with the Packers, you take Favre away and they are not nearly as good. Plus, look at who is holding virtually every NFL record for QB's, how can you say that Favre is not the best QB in the game. Manning may own many of the records in the future, but not right now. In my order:

1. Favre

2. Manning

3. Brady

4. Moss

5. Romo

Easy...because he's not. He's had a great career, he's had a great year...but he's not as good as Brady or Manning.

And, why does everyone try to make it sound like Brett Favre is single handedly carrying the Packers to victory? They have one of the best (young) defenses in the NFL...they have the 5th rated scoring defense? He's not winning by himself...he's proved that he can't do that over the previous few seasons.

If you think of the term MVP= Most Valuable Player. This means the player that the team needs the most. If I was voting I would choose Favre. I know I said Brady would win but...I think Favre should win. IMO you could be just about any QB on the Pat's and he would have great stats.

My vote (if I had one) would go to Favre, because he's worked harder at the success at GB more so than any other 1 person on any other team. I don't discount that GB's defense has went a long way to support their 10-1 season, but I consider a players total impact on a team i.e. performance, mental support. Favre lifts his team up mentally and physically. I don't see that in Brady because he doesn't have to, not that he couldn't he just doesn't have to with all the veterans around him.

Also if the MVP was more MVA, Most Valuable Asset it would be a toss-up GB's defense or Favre.

Look, you can make a case for at least a handful of QB's whose teams wouldn't be anywhere close to what they are without him.

Tom Brady

Brett Favre

Peyton Manning

Tony Romo

Jeff Garcia?

Big Ben

Derek Anderson?

You can't base it solely on that. The Patriots under Belichick never accomplished anything until Brady took over under center...so, Darth Hoodie isn't alone as the common denominator in Patriots success. I'd bet anything that the Pats wouldn't be remotely close to being a Super Bowl contender without Brady under center.

Ahh, what does it matter? Barring injury, Brady is a lock.

Favre without a doubt. You give Brady's group of receiver's to any quarterback (Carson, Peyton, etc.) and they can light up the other team, but Favre doesn't have a supporting cast of that caliber and he is still going to lead them to the Super Bowl (mark my words).

I think Favre, Brady, and Manning are the three best QB's in the NFL. I really like Brady and Manning. Brady is very good and, in my opinion, would do pretty well no matter what team he played for. I think before he retires, Manning will rewrite most of Favre's records. With that being said, I still think Favre is the best QB in the league this year.

Green Bay does have a very good defense. After gaining experience from last year, the offensive line is pretty good as well, a decent RB has been added. Favre is not "single handedly" carrying the Packers, but if you think they would be near as good without him, I think you are mistaken.

The reason GB had trouble the last few years is do to imexperience at other possitions, Favre was doing what he has always done, but he did not have the experience around him. The young O line is now experienced and doing very well, the young defense has become very good.

The "retirement talk" was started by people other then Favre, mainly the media. Favre did not say that he was considering retirement, people said it for him. When he is done, I think he will let us know. People took his statement about talking to his family before returning as to mean he was considering retirement. The truth, as said my Favre, is that he has done this every year.

Favre is not just a QB, he is the spiritual leader, a motivator, a coach on the field. Favre does more and means more to the Green Bay Packers then just a QB. The whole appearance of the team would change with out him. That is what makes him the MVP. How important is he to the success of the team? He is paramount. That does not mean that he is "single handedly" carrying the team, it means he is the Most Valuable Player.

It's not Most Valuable to his team its Most Valuable period. So its Brady.

Ditto, if you think the Patriots would be the same without Brady. They wouldn't.

Brady is the MVP...unless he gets hurt or completely tanks it, there is no discussion.

Favre did plenty to fuel the retirement talk...all he had to say was, "I plan on playing for 3 or 4 more years. I'm not considering retirement. End of story."

Did he ever say that?

If Brett Favre wins MVP, the #1 reason will have nothing to do with his play, it will be because people want to see a legend win another award. Sentimental. Because, if you base it on importance to their teams, it's even, at best...and everything else...EVERYTHING...favors Brady. Stats, team performance, etc...

It's not Most Valuable to his team its Most Valuable period. So its Brady.

It has to be Brady. He is having the best season any QB has EVER had!
