Yes he is very well respected and held in high regard, but I have no idea why. Surely it cant be from what he has done at Iowa, he's been average at best there outside of a year or two.

I just saw some great news. In an article in the Free Press in Detroit. Ron English interviewed today and Debord is scheduled to interview tommorow. That would mean that Ferentz has not been offered and this Ferentz thing may be just a false rumor. I do not want English or Debord but just the fact that interviews are still being conducted means Les Miles or Brian Kelly is still a possibility. My personal opinion is if Michigan has not named a coach by next Monday it will be Miles. I do not think he would announce till after the SEC championship game.

I am not trying to be rude, or inconsiderate to these two candidates, but I do know that UM would stand to get an "F" from the fairness comittee or whatever if they didn't interview a black coach (as Louisville got an "F")....Ron English is black, I hope they are not simply playing the game.

I think there is one thing really interesting about whoever gets this job and that is the offensive philosophy that coach will bring. It's no secret that OSU is year in year out the biggest thing in the way of a Big 10 championship, sometimes national championship and "biggest rivarly out there". Traditionally Michigan has been a pretty conservative offense much like OSU most of the time. They pound the ball at you (they have run more zone lately) and they play action or 5 step from under center a lot. I think they are also a very underrated screen team. OSU biggest nightmare the last couple of years have been spread teams especially one's with mobile QB's (ala Ill and Fla). If I were a Michigan fan I would be hoping they bring a spread coach in with the new hire.

The more I look around I do not think Ferentz will be hired. At least I am praying. I think it it will be Miles or Kelly. At least I am praying. I am not as familiar with Kelly as I am Miles. Gametime you are a big UC fan. What type of offense does he run? I would assume that English will still be around to handle the defense but I would think whoever gets the job will get rid of Debord as offensive coordinator. How are his assistants at UC? I think alot of them came with him from Central Michigan. Would they come with them or does UM not buy out the contract Carr got for his assistance last year for this year?
