If Bowling Green puts 38 points up on Owensboro then the Highland fans should be leary the following week. Owensboro has given up more than 10 points only twice all year and one of those was the 21 to Meade in which Meade scored on a pick late in the game so Actually the D only game up 14 in that game. I am not going to call this at all I love my Devils and I have great respect for good football teams and regardless how this one turns out I will be proud of the way the Big O has played all year. I really do not think Bowling Green is overlooking us at all. I think we even have the respect of their fans that is for sure. The only people really overloking anything are up North where their name is already on the trophy to some of their fans I do not think their players think that though. Owensboro's Defense has gotten scary better the last few games if that is possible the Offense needs a little help and cut down on turnovers. If the offense plays like last week we will be in trouble because BG will put a few points up and we can not rely on the D to win every game.

I doubt that at this point in the postseason (i.e. state semifinal game), no one is "looking past" any opponent. In 5A, BG, Owensboro, HHS, and Lincoln County are all very strong squads... it's hard to look past any of these teams.

 

As for this game, I think that it's going to be VERY DIFFICULT for Owensboro to pull off the upset against BG. I'm pretty much hoping that Owensboro wins, since BG scares me (as a HHS fan) much more than Owensboro does, but then again, I do feel that if HHS can't win it all (ugggg!!!!), I hope BG takes the title.

As I've said all year, if Owensboro gets a decent offensive showing they have the ability to win any football game they play this year. If the game is a low scoring affair (below 21) I look for the Devils to come out on top. OSHS cannot get in a shootout with the Purples, they must control the clock and take their chances in appropriate situations. Should be a great game in between two top notch programs. Owensboro has a good team. Bowling Green has a very good team.

 

Owensboro's "yellow brick road" to the playoff's has been against three teams with a combined record of 15-21, and not one team above .500. Also all three playoff games have been at home for the Red Devils. THAT YELLOW BRICK HAS BEEN GOLD!

 

Bowling Green has played two at home and an undefeated John Hardin team on the road. Those three opponents have a combined record of 25-11 with two teams above .500 and one at .500. Also a side note, if B.G. wins against OHS, it will be the 50th win for the seniors on this team over the last four years! Pretty impressive!!
