There is football at Stx and Trinity, then theres football in the rest of the state..I wouldn't go so far as mention anyone else in louisville in that class either..Exp: Male getting thumped this week by Meade...

jeb stuart or other Meade County followers, it appears that Meade County lost their first three and then ran the table. Were changes made, and if so what were they? Could you tell us a bit about the team? Clearly there is a staunch defense to hold Male without a TD for the first time in over a decade, and Meade has surrendered the second fewest points of any 6A team. Can you provide other details? Size, speed, run/pass, etc.? Thanks, and good luck Friday.

Do I have this right - How does this team compare to the Meade county team st. X faced in the first round of the playoffs in '04 (?). The first drive 80 yards and mostly run. 7-0 Meade county. Then Tronzo and team take over, Big Uglies do their job and final 59-7. Go Tigers. Good job to Meade for getting here and beating Male.

Our last TD-less game was in 1998. When was X's, '02? I know, the rain shortened game from last year..but that really doesn't count IMO.

RP, are you trying to convert this into another "rah-rah Rocks" thread? I hear the burgular alarm going off.

No....

On paper we should not even be in this game. Why can't every once in a while a special group of kids can't come together and get a little respect. There are many post on this web sight that says Loiuisville teams are just better. There are other post that have X and the Rocks already playing in two weeks I think that there are 3 programs in Louisville that are above the in state schools, St.X, Trinity, and Male . The rest of the Ville teams are like us,just trying to make it to the playoffs and then see what happens. We in Meade are not dumb, we know that we are supposed to lose next Friday, we have had a great season . There's just one problem, Our kids believe in each other and they believe that they can win this game. As an outsider I would say X will roll on to another state championship. But as an ex player and a proud parent of a player on the 01 team and of a player on this team I have got to believe in our kids if they believe in themselves. These game are not won in a bluegrass Preps forum, they are won by a bunch teenagers having the time of their lives. I am sorry if I affended anyone, there are several people who write about X on BP. I am one of the few who talks for the Greenwave. Our kids as yours read these post. They love to get on here and see that someone is writing about them. And backing them on this web site.

Jeb, you should give the pre-game speech to the Wave. Nothing more motivating than being the underdog and telling your team that your opponents have all these million dollar advantages that you don't need to win. Seriously, no one doubts your community's pride in its football team. I think's it's great when a community pours out its support for the home team. I understand this victory,like the one in 01, would cause an outpouring of love and support for this group of Green Wavers. But, I think you have a skewed impression that St.X is this "Family"-less monolith. We believe in Family too, ours is just a bit bigger. 98% of our players have been playing with or against each other in the CSAA flag and tackle league since third grade. Once bitter grade school rivals are now teammates. We too have loving grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles who have watched our boys play this game since they were little boys. Contrary to popular belief, not many of our fans will be coming to this game via an airplane. They'll drive over from "neighborhoods" like Hikes Point, J'town, Fern Creek, Okolona, Germantown, Camp Taylor and even a few from St. Matthews. Many will gather at local pubs like Check's, Old Hick and Tim Tam to eat, drink and talk about the game, games past, players now and players in the past. You might be surprised how similar our "families" really are.

 

As to the outcome of this game, our uniforms, facilites and the "millions" they cost won't make a single tackle, block or first down. Our players and coaches will be well prepared, and we expect your players and coaches to be prepared as well. My prediction is X 28 Meade 7.

 

Well said ....... And true with what you said. We in Meade are just a tight nit community. we are probably 20 years behind our counterparts 40 miles NE from here, but we like it like that. I and everyone knows what kind of tradition that X has. Maybe it's that you guys have a better program or you are always on top as a norm. You guys will always have a bullseye on your back. You are not a team that everyone loves to hate,rather you are the team that everyone measures up against. We all know out in the state that to get to the big show we are going to have to beat a small college level team in ST.X. I am sorry if I direspected anyone,but in the same breath, I did not feel that the overachieving kids from Brandenburg that has made it this far for only the 2nd time, were getting the respect that they deserve from some of the writers in this forum.

After our 3rd loss Coach Mofield told our kids that they have to hate losing more than they love winning.

We have 16 or 17 seniors and I think 8 or 9 of them play. We have a balanced offense attack. 2100 yards passing and 1800 yards rushing. We have a senior Alex Furnival splitting time with Soph. Tommy Arnold slitting time at tailback. Both have 600 to 700 yards rushing for the year. Our QB JL Cannady has had a pretty good year with his favorite receiver Nick Stinnet making up for most of the catches.

Our offensive line is small with a couple kids going 170 to 180lbs.

Our deffense is led by a good LB. core with the anchor being Chris Roe. He leads the team with over 150 tackles for the year. Our D as a whole will get after you , I think that is the turning point of our season.

We have 6or7 kids that never come off of the field. D,O, special teams it does'nt matter. We only dress 53 or 54 kids total.

Let me ask you a question. How many kids on the X team went to elementery school together ? How many kids on the X team grw up in the same neighborhood? How many kids on X even knew each other before putting on the pads at tryouts. I would say a small percent. X plays for it's school and it's school only. We have some athletes that would star on X's team, but they never considered transfering to a private school where tuition is more than most colleges. Meade has never went out of the county to try to find players in the Catholic and pop warner programs to help them win championships. Nor has our kids went elswhere to play where they know that they would have a better chance to win.

We at Meade do not put a million dollars a year in our football program, We keep the same uniforms until they are wore out and then we give them to the freshman.

There is one thing that we have that you can't hang in the rafters or put in a trophy case, and that is a FAMILY that loves us and has watched us grow since we were babies. We will know the kids who came through our program 30 years from now. Just look at our sideline and see the explayers lined up on the fence. We have something that we can hold on to for life. A Meade Co. home where the community loves us if we are 0-9 or 9-0 just the same. So ten years from now when you are trying to remember the names of the X players on the 07 team you will have to pull out an old program, in Meade county all you have to do is go next door or down the street.

Great win for the Tigers, what a long bus trip, I thought that the new alignment was to reduce travel time and money?

Where is the Meade County game at Meade County or at St. X.

I hope that Duece get back this week, I really believe from what I hear that he will be back this week, I hope that his return dosen't hurt the chemisty that Montano and Knot have brought to the team since his injury.

How is Zoller's knee I haven't seen him since his return from the injury?
