A great game to watch. Hats off to the Greenup fans, a great crowd for such a long drive on a cold holiday weekend. Both teams made big plays when they had to . It was one of those games that neither team deserved to lose.

 

Greenup definitely deserved to be there. They proved records can be deceiving. It was a tough physical game- the Breds did have several injuries throughout the game. Hopefully they can heal for Lex. Cath- will need to be 100 percent healthy for that one.

I don't think you heard the post-game radio show that Coach Graham was on, or maybe you just heard the radio show on 1400 WCYN. I didn't hear him on the local radio show, but did when he called in to the Louis Stout Show in Lexington. He was on hold for several minutes, and when he talked, praised Greenup County for their hard play, athleticism and the fact that they were a formidable opponent.

 

Kind of crass of you to call him "classless" in my opinion. Apologies are in order.

It would be hard to find a guy who has done more for the kids around the state than Coach Graham. He is a class act who always teaches and coaches the Christian way. Why have so many people this year been dogging coaches for their comments after games this year, when I'm sure these comments were made in context to some sort of question that the viewer did not hear.

What a football game this one must have been Congrats to Harrison on the win.

 

Congrats are also in order for the Greenup Co. Football team, coaches and staff. The players stuck to the new system and got things rolling when everyone was doubting them. That says a lot for the quality of the GCHS kids and the quality of the coachig staff as well. Players...you have absolutely nothing to hang your heads over.

I do believe that from quite a few post I read by some GCHS fans through this season that there are some that owe this coaching staff an apology :sssh:.

Hey, to all you that thought the Breds would name the score, all of you who thought GC couldn't do it, and especially to those who thought GC didn't deserve to be in the playoffs, let alone the Regionals, YOU WERE ALL WRONG!!! GC deserved to be there just as much as any team and IMO even more so than any other team. Even though we came up short on the score board we outplayed our opponent.

 

Boys you played your heart and soul tonight and this year, you have NOTHING to hang your heads about.

 

Muskies, you guys are awesome and we LOVE OUR MUSKETEERS!!!

Greenup Co. made a believe out of me. I really didnt think this team was worthy of a position thus far in the playoffs but you made a believer out of me. You all accomplished a great deal this year and I hope this is a glimps of good things to come. You struggled early in the season but began to peak at the right part of the season. Its a tough loss as many teams at this point have suffered tonight, but this has to leave Greenup Co. and the Muskie fans optimistic about the future of Greenup Co. football. Congrats on a great season.:thumb:

HC seems to always be getting guys hurt this year. Who got hurt tonight and did they make it back into the game? Sounds like the running game is back though.

I forgot to say in my previous thread, Congrats to Coach Sammons and his Coaching Staff!!!! At times you had a lot of negative comments being thrown your way, including mine, and for that I truly apologize. I'm not in your shoes and shouldn't have made bad remarks. You guys deserve a big thumbs up for a season well ended!! :thumb: Great Job Coaches!!!

Keep up the good, hard work and dedication next year, I'm looking forward to another awesome beginning and ending! :banana:

Nice job by Coach Sammons and the staff at Greenup Co. You guys kept on coaching you didn't quit on your kids when the going was bad and you got it rolling and they believed and you had a tremendous run. This should go along way in building a program back up.

I believe Greenup proved our District was not as weak as everyone expected.:thumb:

I was talking last night to a friend from Greenup Co. and I told him that the Greenup Co. district will produce some of the most fierce rivalries on this side of the state. All schools are close in proximity, and they are all about the same level right now. I think it will be a matter of who works harder and earns some breaks. This district will have some very good football in the future, and I believe that they showed that this year.

 

No class goes to the HC head coach who basically said he had no idea how they won the game and did not say anything about the effort of the GC players

 

If karma works, woe is HC when Catholic comes to the hill

 

Coach Graham was just amazed that with all the turnovers and the injuries sustained by the Thorobreds in the game that they still were able to find a way to win. It would take someone who is clueless to even mention Coach Graham and no class in the same paragraph, much less sentence. Good luck to the Breds against Catholic next week and congrats to Greenup on an improbable play-off run.
