November 20, 200718 yr Facts Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva will fight in December @ UFC 79 We're getting another champion versus champion in March @ UFC 82 in Columbus, Ohio... Dan Henderson vs. Anderson Silva Rumor Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's next fight could possibly be another champion vs. champion as well... Randy Couture Now, would that be something? Did anyone watch UFC 78? It was OK. I wanted to see Thiago Silva and Houston Alexander...Silva took him down and destroyed him. As many suspected, Houston is WEAK from his back. He offered no defese once Thiago got on top. Silva is going to be a stud in the 205 pound division, so this is not a bad loss for Alexander, IMO. Evans and Bisping was a bad main event for UFC...as I figured it would be. It would have been a good undercard fight, but it couldn't carry the show...it was fairly boring for the most part, with a few good moments sprinkled in. However, if Bisping won against Hamill, then he certainly won against Evans, because he didn't get dominated nearly as bad this time. It was a split decision.

I think Silva's reign is coming to an end come March. Hendo also said he wants another shot at the 205 champ for his fight after March and I think Dana will give it to him. I think Couture would be a really bad match up for Rampage. Rampage could not win the clinch battle with Randy. Instead I look for Dana to force Randy to defend his HW belt. 78 was one of the worse PPV's I have seen in a while. There was a couple good fights. The Evans/Bisbing fight was just brutal to watch. That was a terrible Main Event. Thought Herman looked good.
November 20, 200718 yr **UFC 79: DECEMBER 29, 2007 IN LAS VEGAS** Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Lyoto Machida Winner of that fight should get a shot at Rampage.
November 20, 200718 yr UFC AND CBS REPORTEDLY CLOSE TO DEAL The recent writer's strike may be working in favor of the Ultimate Fighting Championship as sources say it is close to announcing a television deal with major broadcast network CBS. The writer's strike has caused headaches in Hollywood. With several shows not completed due to the strike, many networks are now looking into more reality-style television shows to keep their ratings afloat. According to Mediapost Publications, the UFC is in the final stages of a deal with CBS, and it may be announced as early as this week. The UFC has been steadily gaining in popularity and has garnered the attention of the highly coveted 18-34 male demographic. It's no surprise that the promotion is on the cusp of major network notoriety. After all, the mixed martial arts conglomerate has been showcased on ESPN, has continually shown... LINK

The only option for Randy at this point is at the 205 pound division against Rampage.

The only option for Randy at this point is at the 205 pound division against Rampage. There are plenty of options for Randy at HW. Big Nog being the first.
November 23, 200718 yr There are plenty of options for Randy at HW. Big Nog being the first. Randy was supposed to meet with Dana recently to talk. I think he comes back to fight Nog on the superbowl saturday card. Im really interested to see Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. I personally think Lesnar is going to be a monster in the HW division.
November 23, 200718 yr Also If Hendo beats Silva for the MW belt would they give Franklin a shot at Hendo? I think Hendo would win that fight but I think Franklin matches up with Dan and his style alot better than he does with Anderson.
November 23, 200718 yr Breaking News Matt Serra has withdrawn from UFC 79 and will not be fighting Matt Hughes. Serra hurt his back in training this week and wont be able to compete next month. This sucks I was looking forward to this fight.

I think Hendo would win that fight but I think Franklin matches up with Dan and his style alot better than he does with Anderson. I would have to disagree...If Ace thought Anderson was strong he will be in for a Huge suprise with Hendo. Hendo is one of the strongest guys lb 4 lb in MMA. He would absolutely maul Ace on the ground.

He would absolutely maul Ace on the ground. Dan Henderson is a beast. He's been fighting 205 lb guys so that shows how strong he really is. I think Henderson vs Silva will be a great fight! Terrible news about Serra. That is really bad news for guys like GSP, Karo, Koscheck etc who were waiting in line for a title shot.
November 24, 200718 yr I would have to disagree...If Ace thought Anderson was strong he will be in for a Huge suprise with Hendo. Hendo is one of the strongest guys lb 4 lb in MMA. He would absolutely maul Ace on the ground. I agree about the strength he would definently be stronger. I just think Ace matches up with Dan's style more than he would with Silva who is just way to fast and quick for Ace. But I guess you could say that about a lot of guys.
November 24, 200718 yr Author Dana said he had big plans for Rampage's next fight...who in the current 205 lb division fits that description...? Nobody. He's gotta be looking at Couture...there is no one else. Whether it happens or not, who knows, but I have no doubt that if Dana White gets his way, Rampage vs. Couture will be both men's next fight. Also, consider Couture...what will bring him back? A fight with Big Nog...I don't think so. If he was interested in that fight, he wouldn't have left in the first place. But, the opportunity to beat Rampage and become the first man in UFC history to have two belts...what else can Dana offer Randy to get him back? It's clearly obvious nothing short of Fedor in the HW division interests him. As for Dan Henderson and Anderson Silva...that will be a great fight, I think. But, I can't see Rich Franklin having much of a chance against either man. Obviously, he can't beat Anderson. Theoretically, maybe he matches up better with Hendo...but realistically, he's not on the same level. The only difference, IMO, is that it could possibly go the distance, but I'd expect Henderson to win convicingly.

I think Dan would win convincingly but Ace would have a chance where as he has 0 chance of beating Silva.
November 26, 200718 yr New development for UFC 79 Now that Serra is out with injury, Hughes is fighting GSP for the interim welterweight belt. GSP will be taking the fight on a short 4 weeks notice.
