Kentucky: Where has the offense gone?

Featured Replies

The first half of the season we witnessed an offensive machine - bloggers and reporters touted, "Woodson for Heisman", "Joker Phillips will be a head coach soon", blah, blah, blah...

Now...14 points vs. Mississippi State, 13 vs. Georgia and all that talk is long gone.

Has the rest of the SEC figured this Cat team out? Too bad the Cats haven't adjusted - - they've come out the past three weeks without any kind of new game plan.

Those thinking Tennessee might be vulnerable better think again if the Cats pull another week next week like the have the past three...

IMO in the film rooms of the SEC "D" coordinators and they have made adjustments and figured it out.

That is not meant to be a cut, JMO.

I hope that U.K. can fix some things/come up with some new "wrinkles" and Beat Rotten Flop.

Numerous injuries (Little, Burton, Dixon to name a few) took the momentum away and they haven't been able to regain it. Not to mention they play in the most brutal conference in the country and you can't expect to keep it going playing your 5th string tailback in early November.

Woodson's decision making has not been good lately( dumb sacks) Injuries and maybe a loss of confidence. Hopefully it can be back for UT. Go Cats!

I also agree with this statment. Andre is trying to do too much and he isn't throwing the ball away when he should which is where the sacks are coming from. O-line isn't opening up much on the interior lately either.

Yesterday I put most of it on Woodson and Joker. Offensive line was back to form for the most part, but Andre made poor decisions and missed too many open recievers. The other games I think injuries had alot to do with it.

Truth is, UK gets praised when they play well, often too much and when they lose, the naysayers are ever present, certainly too much.

They played well early but lacked consistency in running/passing at times and especially, when needing to sustain drives. Pass protection looked confused at times yesterday and that is probably a result, of Georgia.

Enthusiasm lacked at Miss. State and just simply got beat, by a team better "that day", yesterday.

Next Saturday, is about heart, pride and the will to win. I expect a very hard hitting game, defense early and offense in the 2nd half. Who wants the game the most, will decide it.

I've heard from some one close that the play calling now is a lot different than it was at the beginning of the year...

I don't buy it - Cats have had injuries all year.

I think you're dreamin' - Cats have hung it up and will be content with whatever lower level bowl they can get. Tennessee will roll by 2 touchdowns.

I thought it looked like Kentucky relied too much on Rafael Little yesterday and didn't give enough carries to Derrick Locke.
