I thought Guardado had already been cut loose?

He was let go last week

I like everyone on there but Edwin I think that he will be cut loose

I think they will bring him back at a lesser price than his 3 million option.

Who will be the everyday 3B? Keppinger?

Keppinger will start over Gonzo. Guardado and Stanton will both be gone. I think the Reds are going to trade Griffey so that will mean that Hopper will be the lead off man. I think the Reds need to do a LOT more to their pitching staff other than just adding Carlos Silva. Major improvement needed in that area.

Someone tell us why they are better than .500 in 2008 Same club. Same record . I just can't stand the apathy for mediocrity in this city!

You are going to see some veteran role players signed over the winter. These have always been a staple for Dusty Baker teams.

Pedro Feliz comes to mind. The Reds should make a run at several starters. Josh Fogg, Jason Jennings, Julian Tavarez, maybe Russ Ortiz, maybe Kris Benson, or even Jeff Weaver.

I'm fully confident they would be better if they had the exact same team as last year. This team is made up of younger players for the most part. You have to give them a chance to develop. Plus, the Reds have some very impressive prospects who will be ready in 1-2 years so why go after aging veterans who will want 6 million per year when you can compete in the worst division in baseball while saving money for the extensions of the heart and soul of the team. Players like Adam Dunn, Brandon Phillips, Edwin Encarnacion, Homer Bailey and Jay Bruce will all demand big money, but they are all players the Reds need to keep around if they want to win and you can't do that by wasting money on aging, overpriced veterans.

Keppinger will start over Gonzo.

The Reds could possibly trade Gonzo, but there's not a chance that Keppinger will be the everyday SS over Gonzo.

I'm afraid I know the answer to this question, but will the Reds ever make a big splash FA signing? A legitimate one?

I think that Keppinger will be the everyday 3B.
