Dixie looks like the hot team right now. With a bunch of seniors they look to the be favorite to possibly advance and face Highlands. I am somewhat hoping its the Red Colonels who travel over to the City of Fort Thomas.

Wow--Dixie on a serious roll and the Camels going in the opposite direction?? Thought that Campbell had found their offense, but it appears not and that will apparently send them back to Boone, where they've already been handed a 28-0 loss. Good time to get hot for the Colonels and the opposite for the Camels--Dixie/CovCath should be a battle next week, as I think that's how it plays out in 5-A??

 

Surprizingly no comments from the Camels faithful again?? You guys need to rally around your team--NCC and Dixie are no slouches and its no time to give up on this team!!

 

We do everyday. I don't know where that comment comes from. Just because Camel faithfuls don't post on here doesn't mean we don't support our guys.

That was not how we wanted to get ready for the playoffs but it is what it is and now its time to look towards next week. We need to heal....Jordan Woodruff has been out for the last several games and he was an important part of that D, Grant Rose running back was out after the first series and most of the NCC game also an important part of the O, Cody Owens goes down last night with a knee injury, etc. The Camel Nation needs to show our team our support and take it to Boone. Remember last year......

 

Boone is an excellent team but much has changed for the Camel offense since that game, Eshmann has shown his talents and Kidwell has been even more important as fullback and LB. We need to put it all together and everyone on that team including players and coaches need to pick it up with no mistakes. We can do it. Remember........

As ltm stated, it was a hold on 65. They ran again and then settled for a FG.

 

 

Late call on that one. Running back was in the endzone already handing ball to ref when the flag came flying out. Defender fell down and 65 fell on top of him.

Another solid game for the Colonels! All aspects played great. EJ Detmer had 4 TD receptions, a pick, and a nice punt return down to the 10. Brock had two rushing touchdowns. Molony ran well as usual. He gave everyone a scare when he had to be helped off the field halfway through the 2nd, but he came back in. Bricking had a solid game. The o-line did another outstanding job. Defensively, they made plays and tackled fairly well. The line was getting pressure. The DBs made some nice plays. Special teams was solid with a couple field goals, 2 blocked punts by Koski, and an onside kick recovery.

 

For CC, Studer had a solid game. You just have to throw the ball up, and the kid goes and gets it. Rose went out on CC's 1st or 2nd drive and never returned. He stood on the sidelines for the remainder of the game without a helmet, so hopefully it was just precautionary. #33 came in and ran nicely. Very, very fast and quick. He had a nice TD catch and run on the screen. Saurbeck had a solid game, and had some shoestring tackles on Molony that probably prevented him from reaching the endzone.

 

I know many in the past have complained about CC's announcer. I, personally, think he's a pleasure to listen to. He gets the home crowd pumped up. He provides entertainment (red rubber band). And he compliments the visiting team on numerous occassions. Not once did I think he overstepped his boundaries as an announcer.

 

Campbell County did a great job with their Senior Night. And did you notice, both teams were off the field during Senior Night festivities prior to game. I also liked it that all the senior Campbell players were honorary captains for the night, very classy.

CC (a respectable 6-4) must now put this season behind them (although they have showed signs of greatness at times) and focus on the 2nd season (the playoffs). The slate is clean! We beat BC in their house last year and we can do it again.

 

Maloney played as advertised. Dettmer is a thoroughbred. However, I was particularly impressed with the run of Conner Brock after he replaced the injured Maloney. That particular TD run was amazing. He looked as though he was shot out of a cannon. He must have 4.5 speed?

 

Congrats to the Colonels on their win. They are peaking at the right time.:fire: CC, on the other hand, will be no pushover next Friday at Owen Hauck Stadium.:fight:

I agree that was very well done, and all seniors as captains was classy too. It would've been nice to figure something out to get the parents in the wheelchairs out there, or at least down on the track to be with their sons. I thought the singing of "God Bless America" at the end of 3rd was a nice touch too.

The mother in the wheelchair was supposed to be on the field but she did not arrive until after the start of the game that is why they honored her at half. I agree the Senior Night at CCHS was classy but then that is how all of our events have been. I applaud the administration, athletic director and boosters for their continued support of Camel Athletics.

In honor of all parent's who are disabled. Same thing happened when Dixie played Campbell Co. in fall of 2004. It was senior night for the Camel's. It was touching to see the Campbell County parent's greet their son's on senior night. (and there was a delayed game call for the Camel's).

As a spectator I thought there were many poor calls made against the Camels, offensive pass interference several times in the endzone, fumble recovery by Camels at the beginning of second half given back to Dixie, etc. After watching the game again I was right. Coleman and crew agreed!!! This group of officials should catch the broadcast this week and watch the "films" maybe it would help in their next game. We will not know what impact it had on the final score but it still was a disappointment.

I would have to agree that Dettmer probably did get away with a push off on his one TD. And the one fumble was questionable, but I think the side judge blew a quick whistle on that one.

Big disagreement with you on this one. I strongly believe that Joe Frank and his crew are the best officials in NKY, and that the game last night was officiated rather well. I will give you that the non-pass interference call on EJ was a close one, but let's be honest, they cound't guard him all night and it wouldn't have mattered any way. Officiating is a nice scape goat for a team that got smoked.

If you look at the play in slow motion he extends his arms but the reason the db falls down is because their feet get tangled. Bottom line is Camels DB's couln't guard 80. He made them look silly all night. Also, i guess the two blocked punts and the onside kick didn't have anything to do with the outcome. Let's not put this one on the refs, Dixie just outplayed and out coached the Camels.

As I said I do not know it would have impacted the outcome but there were several what I call "questionable or bad calls" just my opinion and the announcers as well. In the endzone you number 80 and our number 7 both were going up for a pass number 7 was in front in position and 80 knocked him out of the way before the pass arrived but I guess that was OK as well? Do not want to minimize your victory at all, I thought you outplayed us most of the night just expressing my opinion about some of what I thought were questionable or blown calls, my opinion only. And having the opportunity to see if again with slow motion helped confirm what I felt that night at the game. Good luck the rest of the season we will be rooting you on in the playoffs and we hope we both we be in Louisville.
