I think he was trying to come up with some songs that haven't been done to death on highlight/warmup songs.

Hey, have you ever heard of this obscure band called AC/DC and this song called Thunderstruck? I'm sure no one has ever used it before. If that isn't original you could try "Back in Black" or "You Shook Me All Night Long" I'm sure those have never been used before.

I know it's not what a lot of people would think would fit for football, but I could see using the song "1-2-3-4" by Feist (think iPod commercial) for a situation where you could coordinate the tune with someone's steps as they go into the end zone.

 

Some offbeat suggestions, but music that would work:

"Top Floor, Bottom Buzzer" by Morphine

"Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Nebatar

"Can't Hardly Wait" by The Replacements
