OK, I was actually just thinking about this the other day. Then I saw the thread on here about the KHSAA may be moving the state football finals.

 

I personally would enjoy watching the state football finals at commonwealth. I know that the field would be an issue, trying to play 6 games on it in a span on two days.

 

Anyway, what would be your reason as to why you would want the state football championships played in Lexington?

My answer is no issue. Can't happen due to the field. Six games in two days won't happen on the hallowed grounds of Common Wealth Stadium.:thumb:

Totally agree with you about the field.

 

If they had turf, however, then I think we would see more people push for it.

back in the 70's the games were played at Comon Wealth

We won't be seeing them again at Commonwealth until they go artificial.

Louisville is hosting the state track meet next year after it was held in Lexington for years. Jeffersontown has hosted the state softball tournament at various times in the past, including this past year. Louisville also hosts the state swimming and diving championships. It's not like football is the only championship in Louisville.

Almost made the KHSAA bankrupt, so can't say that will be in the works anytime soon.

There is zero chance of this happening so there is no sense is discussing it.
