Maybe one of the Corbin radio announcers said it right when he said that maybe good offenses can win against good defenses?

I wanna say that Somerset is a fine team. They have some fine athletes and Cole is the real deal. They played very very hard and exposed a Redhound Pass D. It was hard for the Jumpers to get anything on the ground though. Corbin's run game was exceptional and their pass game was crisp too. Corbin is a well oiled machine on offense and pretty good on D.

 

I am tickled with the win and impressed with the talent and effort of the Jumpers. They are very good and will give any team fits. However, regardless of how this makes me sounds, the officiating was pathetic this game. If Corbin wasn't a step ahead on the offensive side of the ball, they would have been completely robbed. It wasnt 2 or 3 calls that were questionable..there were 9 or 10 of them and of big significance.

 

Best of Luck to Somerset the rest of the way. This game was what Corbin and Somerset is all about.

Good win. We get a good week of rest. The officiating was terrible. This game should be sent to the khsaa for review. Fritts had a big night, as did Watkins.

First post about officiating of the night! Almost made it to midnight this week. Dang.

Do you think Corbin Got a little pass happy late in the second quarter and on into the third? I felt they really had the game in controll untill they got away from the run. They let a good Summerset team back into the game.

They'll have to replace the lights in the scoreboard after that one. 9-1 Hounds had a great regular season and have a chance to get to Papa John's.

Without a doubt this was the worst officiated game I have ever seen. KHSAA needs to look at this game! Many calls were very bad.

Good win for the Redhounds keep up the good work and we will get to the Pizza Boz in December

Somerset is for real. My question is how did Metcalfe County hold Somerset to 7 points?:confused:

 

Better yet, how did Belfry shut out Corbin and hold them to negative rushing yards and under 200 total yards.....

 

If seedings hold true, that Belfry/Somerset matchup will be very intriguing.

The officials let Somerset back in the game.:irked: Both teams played very hard but the officiating left much to be desired. Quite frankly it was more than pathetic----it was deplorable.

You know it's bad when you win the game, rack up over 700 yards offense, hold the best WR in the state to 1 td and 100 yards, yet still cannot get over the poor officiating. I can only imagine if we lost.

We are proud of these Redhounds! What an effort by a special group of young men. Coach Farris has this offense clicking. Hats off to Coach Jewell for taking up for his men out there. He had to feel pressure to win, with his ties to somerset, and his family in the stands. It is hard to stay focused when a game is called like that. I do think that reflected the way the team played, so kudos to the staff was well. Not many other teams could overcome what the big Red did tonight.

 

Alot of positives for us, but this game may be a blessing as well. We know we have to improve against the pass. Corey Sewell had the play of the night, even if it got called back. What an INT.

That was a very odd penalty. It appeared the flag came out 50 yards behind the ball and well after he scored the TD................yet they brought it back. It brought back memories of Steve Bird's game winning TD being called back against M'boro in the final seconds way back in 1978.........and as far as the officiating goes:eek::eek::eek:

Those two sophomores have really given Corbin a couple of playmakers they were lacking last year and at the start of this year.
