October 24, 200718 yr Author Are you Rip Van Winkle in disguise? Where have you been the past two seasons? Last year, people were on here ripping Bengals/Lewis for the character issues and saying these individuals would be causing issues for the Bengals. At the beginning of this year, someone posted a thread about Lewis and being on a hot seat. I started a thread about what happened to the defensive guru label. Did you just skip over all those threads and get to the point you wanted to make? Nowhere has anyone, that I remember, glossed over all of those other things and laid the blame squarely at the feet of Chad. He is part of the problem, just as all of those other things that we have been posting about for the last two seasons, are part of the problem. I've read all the threads. October 24, 200718 yr I do not think it is Chad's fault the Bengals are not very good. With that said, you cannot go out of your way to be viewed as a team spokesman and leader and not expect to take some of the blame, that comes with the territory. The fact Chad, et al. are having a hard time accepting that shows the Bengals real problem, imo.. immaturity. I totally agree. He wants all of the love and attention when things go wrong. He wants to be the spokesman. He wants to have fun w/ the opposing teams media. Yet when they lose and there are questions about the team imlpoding he deflects attention. If you want to be the voice of the franchise don't swing at a coach and don't plan celebrations before that game. Score a TD, celebrate whatever way you see fit, and win the game. If he's supposed to lead the young guys what are they picking up? A lot of players aren't as talented as him and they see what he gets away w/. They're one of the least disciplined teams I have ever seen. That you can blame on the coaches. You need your best players to listen to the coach and lead by example. You don't need your best WR and your QB cussing each other on the field b/c of a pick. Has Harrison ever blown up like this? How about receivers that play w/ Brady? Is there a reason they're better?

CHADS" THE PROBLEM Then you haven't been reading the threads that I've been reading. The Bengals are in disarray. There is a lot of speculation that Marvin may not be the right coach for this team. Lots of complaining about Bengals in trouble. I myself have voiced doubts about Carson's abilities this year. However, you're comment about Carson being tied for 2nd on interceptions shows you only want to present things your way. You didn't bother that he's tied for interceptions with Eli and Romo, both who are having very good seasons.

October 24, 200718 yr Going into this week's game, 6 of Carson's 8 interceptions were on balls thrown to Chad. ANd in two occassions, Carson was upset with Chad for running the wrong route.

October 24, 200718 yr Actually four children with three different women. Relevant how? This kind of thing is all over professional sports....
October 24, 200718 yr This kind of thing is all over professional sports.... And everywhere else, why should pro sports be an exception?

Hmm well when people start a thread and actually start saying Chad should be traded. That kind of shows that if they actually want to trade one of the best receivers in the league, that you all must think that he is a BIG reason for why the Bengals are losing...When that is not true at all, if he is a reason at all for why they are losing, he is a very small reason for it...

I'd rather the Bengals trade Marvin for a head coach that can keep Chad both in-line and productive.
October 24, 200718 yr I think that the Bengals should trade him to New England, Im sure he would do well there!!!

The other threads were done weeks ago. Are you again choosing to overlook those. I posed in August that I was mostly concerned about the OL. Willie and Levi out for injuries. I was told by many on here the OL was no concern. Willie is out for Sunday and missing his 2nd game. Levi for whatever reason missed the first or second game and played bad. Since two months ago BEFORE ANY CHAD THREAD, I said the OL would be a problem. Would that mean that since I discussed this 2 months before the CHad issue, wouldn't I consider this a bigger issue. That was done in August. Are you conveniently glossing over those to prove your point? Or do you want us to just pick one problem and only focus on that as a problem?
October 24, 200718 yr For that matter, I was ripping on Marvin LAST SEASON. So, does that count as what I think is the biggest problem over Chad?

As I said to start a thread, and to actually think the Bengals should trade Chad, pretty much would lead people to think. That you and whoever else wants him to be traded, that you all think he is one of the main problems for why they are losing..Because that is the only way anyone could have any justification in actually thinking Chad should be traded...However he is not the main reason for why they are losing, he is not even close to being the reason for why they are losing..So why in the world then would you or anyone else want him traded...So want him traded is a joke...
