I pay 100.00 for Cinti Bell and Fuse internet.I pay 68.00 for Insight digital with the HBO package.If I packaged they wanted 180.00 after some negotiation.When I called Direct they wanted 160.00 for there top package,dvr,internet and 4 rooms wired.They also charge 4.95 additional per any room over 1 for the remote.That added almost 15.00 more to the bill.You do get alot more channels with Direct but I'm being an idiot about the 15.00 per room and they wont budge.:mad:

 

I just paid both bills. I pay $87.45 for DIRECTV. That's the Total Choice Plus (which they no longer have as they've changed their packages, but it's more than the base package and less than the top package) in 3 rooms with HD and DVR (no movie or sports packages). For Cincinnati Bell, I pay $82.23 for home phone and zoomtown, and then I have my wireless bundled with them that comes on an additional bill for $70. I believe you can now bundle DIRECTV through Cincinnati Bell.

Get Direct and get the DVR, it's great. I'm not going to pay for HD tv, I don't watch it enough to warrant it and besides, in a few years HD will be standard option that won't cost more.

We just consolidated all our bills into one and now have direct TV. We have the DVR on the TV in the Sunroom...it is neat that when someone calls their name and # appears on the TV. We also went with 3 more boxes for $5.oo each a month.It does goes thought our phone as our internet is with the package. It also includes our cell phones...AT&T...used to be Bellsouth. We are saving around $100 a month by combining our bills. We also really like direct TV.

Will have to ask my husband as he took care of ordering the package. He is out of town , but should be back tomorrow.

We have Directv also but are waiting on Momma to get a second job so I can get the HD package. Whats really nice if she forgets to pay the bill and we lose it, seconds later (after I scream) she calls and pays over the phone.

WE have similar package as you. Direct TV with HBO channels runs something like $68 a month I think. Cin Bell zoomtown/home line and wireless package with unliminted minutes is around $137 a month right now for everything. I thought about switching to INsight because they have pretty sweet deal right now combining phone/cable/internet for dirt cheap, I forget what it is but saw it in the paper. I like Direct TV a lot though. I am waiting on the HD stuff though.

I currently have Insight HD, but I'm looking into changing to DirecTV. My cable bill runs $64 per month right now with 10 HD channels. DirecTV offers 41 HD channels for $70 per month (first 12 months @ $60 per month) and they say they are adding more by the end of the year.

 

The biggest problem is that DirecTV in Louisville offers local channels, but not in HD. That means ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, etc will not be available in HD through DirecTV. Supposedly, DirecTV is adding local HD channels in the Louisville market by the end of this month. If and when DirecTV offers local Louisville stations in HD, it's a no-brainer to switch.

I have Direct TV, and also have the HD package, HBO, and HD DVR. We switched a couple of years ago, and love it. We only get 10 or so HD channels, but they upgraded our dish a few months ago, in preparation for the new channels. I was told that I would get the Lexington affilliates in HD by the end of the year. My bill is around $100 per month, but I have 5 boxes. I can turn off any boxes while my guys are away at college to lower the bill, and turn them back on if they come home for a weekend. My experience with customer service has been excellent. I've found if you talk to the right person, you can get about anything accomplished with them.

Kind of off topic but Insight just sent me a card in the mail saying they are adding NFL Network and TBS to their HD lineup soon. Sounds good to me!

I have the DishNetwork. They have quite a few HD channels, but I hope they add more.

One gripe I have though, is the Lexington channels I have on Dish. They say they are HD, but they don't come in as HD on my TV. So the recent UK football games on CBS said "HD", but they weren't.:irked:

 

I have Time Warner HD and I watched the UK games on WBNS here in Columbus and they have been broadcasting in HD for over a year now. BUT!! The UK games against LSU and Florida were not broadcasted in HD, my guess is that CBS was using all of their HD equipment for NFL.

 

So it was not a DishNetwork issue but a CBS issue.

As mentioned earlier, Cable does not have the bandwidth capability as Satellite does.
