It will be a shock if Paducah Tilghman and Louisville Central don't hook up in the semifinals ... both will be heavy favorites to win in the quarterfinals. I would also be surprised if Tilghman beat Central.

 

The eastern side is where most of the early fun will be, with Russell and Mason County in the same district and Belfry and Breathitt County primed for postseason runs.

Can we get back to the 2007 playoffs and quit having wizzing contest over who was 2nd or 3rd best team 4 years ago.

 

Getting a little "testy" Jumper Dad? Could it be the lack of respect the Mountain boys are giving the Jumpers in the playoff chase? Belfry has got to be a great team and will be the favorite for the title, but Somerset showed it could put points on the board against a good Corbin team. You never know?:bunny:

Looking at the 3 way tie in District 2 for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places, it looks to me like Butler Co has the 2 seed pretty much locked up.

 

Right now Butler has 8 points, Hart has 2 and Edmonson has 2

 

Butler Co is likely to pick up 2 more if Logan Co and McLean Co win this Friday and possibly 1 more if Muhlenberg N beats Ballard Memorial. Butler will also likely beat Muhlenberg S, which would give them 2 more points. Thats a total of 5 more points likely for Butler Co, which would give them 13.

 

Edmonson isn't likely to pick up any more points from Caverna, Adair or Breckenridge, but they could pick up 1 more if they can beat Allen Co Scottsville this Friday, which would give a total of 3 points.

 

Hart Co beat the same 3 teams Edmonson beat, plus Ft Knox who isn't likely to win this week either. So their only hope of adding points is to beat Grayson Co and they would gain 6 points for that. However that is unlikely and they will probably finish with the 2 points they have now.

 

So my prediction is:

 

2 Butler Co

3 Edmonson Co

4 Hart Co

 

But Edmonson has to beat A/C Scottsville for that to happen. If not, it would maybe come down to a coin toss between Edmonson and Hart because neither of them has another win to add in for another tie breaker round.

And if District 2 shakes down like I have it above, the final 3A playoff pairings would be as follows:

No not at all I just get tired of treads getting highjacked all the time with issues that could be argued back and forth with PM's and not clutter up the original thread by geting so far off topic. .....jeez now I'm doing it :confused:
