What will the lineup consist of next season and who will be the manager? OF - Damon SS - Jeter OF - Abreu 3B - ARod ??? Honestly, he's treated like he's doing something illegal... He's doing exactly what he should do, unfortunately he pays his superstar more than some teams pay their entire major league roster. That's why baseball sucks.

And they never win when it counts anymore...not a big deal, IMO. They Yankees title runs ended when Steinbrenner went nuts with his spending...the dynasty was with guys like Paul O'Neill, Tino Martinez and Scott Brosius...replace them with ARod, Giambi and Sheffield, Abreu, Damon, etc, you're better on paper, but not in reality. The Yankees need to get back to developing a team and some chemistry instead of trying to buy one. I don't like Yankees because I'm a Red Sox fan. The spending doesn't bother me, because they haven't won a series since they started going overboard with it.

I think that's what you'll find with the young guys in the pitching staff: Chamberlin, Wang and Hughes. Then there's Cabrera, Cano and Duncan that will be playing every day... It will be interesting to see who they sign as a catcher and what will happen with A-Rod.

The Yankees are also on the hook for the 2008 contracts of Giambi ($20 Million) and Mussina ($11 Million) so more than likely they will be taking up roster spots because I can't see any team being interested in trading for them.

Most people will look a the Yankees sucsess through the years and just pick reasons to hate them and I for one Love that. The more that they hate the Yankees the better I like it. The Yanks have beaten the crap out of everyone for so long - nobody can match their history and tradition. They put down and detest Steinbrennar bc he will do what it takes to get the players that he wants and others will not take that chance and spend the cash, heck he is even paying all the other teams as well to an extent. The Yankees also always have a core of very good "home grown players" coming up in their farm systems. Let all celebrate, dance now when they don't win and all of that is fine. Then they lookup at 27 WS titles and realize that they will ALWAYS be looking up at the Yankees. A few years of sucsess doesn't come close to the tradition and history of the PRIDE, PASSION AND PINSTRIPES that are the New York Yankees.:ylsuper: Again, no whining or sour grapes here and congrats to the Indians, they deserved the win in this series and good luck to all teams the rest of the way. I personally will be pulling for the D-Backs now bc of Ashland. Ky. native and U.K. grad Brandon Webb. :thumb::thumb:

It's his money, right? It's his network, right? He decides the payroll, right? Wouldn't that make them good because he allows the money to be spent? I mean, Lindner may have more money than anybody but there's no way he'd spend it on his baseball team...
