If UK can beat Florida they could go 10-2, and yes 7-5 would be a disappointment after a 5-0 start.

I don't see how 7-5 would be a disappointment if you look at the big picture. That would mean UK beats the teams its supposed to, and loses to the teams it's supposed to for the rest of the way out. Most had UK pegged to be sub-500 this year. This season has already surpassed most all expectations. I'm just enjoying the ride.

Before the season, 5-0 and #8 in the Nation, not comprehensible. Outstanding accomplishment and if they finish 7-5, it would still be amazing.

Good post! If you're a long time Kentucky fan you always wish for a bowl birth. I will be happy with 7 wins but I also do think they can reach 8.

7-5 would be a bit disappointing, but I wouldn't be calling for anybody's head.

8-4 would be great

9-3 would be amazing (and is not out of reach by any stretch)

The only reason it would be disappointing would be the 5-0 start, but I would be happy with a 7-5 record. I saw 8 wins preseason but that was beating SC and losing to Ark. I still 8 wins being very realistic.

Pre-season I felt that 5-7 with this schedule, would be a very good year for the Cats. I predicted 4-8. If they finish 7-5, I'll still consider it an excellent year.:thumb:

Not trying to change the topic, but as Kentucky-Louisville comparisons and fortunes are so intertwined in sports discussions, and certainly this season so far is not what many people thought it would be for either program.....

And for the record on this thread's question...as long as the Cats play like they are capable of playing, I'll be satisfied with the record...whatever it is.

Certainly they are a better team than they showed Thursday, but letdowns happen to about every team...see last weekends upsets for examples. I just want to see them mentally bounce back and play like they have been.

My personal belief is 8-4 at this time...better than my pre-season prediction. LSU and Florida are very good teams (understatement) and I think Georgia will be ready and waiting on their home field.

The other games Kentucky should be favored...even Tennessee.

Look at it this way. A few years ago, if you told UK football fans that the Cats would have even a remote chance at upsetting the #11 team on the road, most would have laughed their tails off. Now, we expect to win that game? That says a lot about the change in expectations and attitude that these coaches and players have brought to KY football. It still hurts to lose, maybe moreso when our expectations are now to win.

 

I nominate this post for "spin of the season". If you get away from the Kentucky fan base, it was obvious (Did you listen to the game announcers?) that Kentucky was viewed as vastly overrated (ie: 8th in conference which may be close to reality). A fairly favorable schedule, which admittedly included an overrated Louisville team at Lexington and a minor upset over a middle of the road Arkansas team on the road, as usual, got the fans charged up. South Carolina probably started the trauma of reality. Fortunately for UK, there are so many bowls around that they should get one of the leftovers. But the quest for respect for the UK football program continues.
