I mean obviously he must have thought that he might have never touched the plate, or otherwise he would have signaled right away..I think the ump got a little scared there of calling him out in front of the home crowd...

Hang it up. As the play was played out on TBS (LIVE) you can't possibly tell me that you think he was out from the camara angle behind home plate... It was a questionable call that could have gone either way. He might not have made it out of Denver alive if he called him out.

I almost thought the same thing...and then watched it again, and again...he didn't touch the plate...THEN you can obviously tell by his NON attempt to get the plate again, that he KNEW he was out...only he wasn't.....awesome mis-call, IMO.

No way he touched the plate. If you look at Barrett's foot, it does move but he's on the other side of the plate. At least half or Holliday's hand would've had to been under his cleat and it wasn't, just fingertips...maybe. Also, if his hand would've been under his cleat, he would've mentioned getting stepped on and didn't. He just mentioned his face plant into the dirt... Again though, if that was a homerun earlier in the game, that's a run that didn't score. Ah, the human element...
