Didn't one of the top teams in the Big East just get beat by one of the SEC's bottom dwellers? Can you imagine what would happen to one of these "loaded" teams if they played in the SEC week end and week out?

Zero? UL has ZERO chance at winning the Big East? Not a slim chance, they literally shouldn't even travel to West Virginia? Have you been watching the last 3 years? WVU is famous for losing a game they shouldn't -- that wouldn't be new.

 

Listen Truth, I can't stand UL. I don't care much for them and if their football and basketball teams lose their next 50 games I'd be okay (Baseball, Women's sports, etc, I root for them; like I would nearly any in-state school), but how can you say they have ZERO chance at winning the Big East? One loss and they are not even a blip on the screen?

I'll stick with zero chance. Just as I'd say UK has zero chance at winning the SEC. It's not just WVA, it South Florida, UC and Rutgers. Just too many good teams.

Going into the season I thought Louisville would lose to WVU.

 

I thought UK, Rutgers, and South Florida were toss-ups. And felt Louisville would win 2 out of 3. They can still do that, but I thought S. Fl. would be the toughest task, and would give the Bulls a slight edge at their house.

 

There is still time to improve but based on the defense in the first three games. I would move Cincinatti and Utah into the toss up category.

 

9-3 seems likely. 7-5 is not out of the question.

I think he is referring to how alot of people on here made a fuss about how South Florida beat Auburn, and how that made a statement about the Big East..Yet when UK who is suppose to be like the 4th or 5th best SEC team beats the team that was suppose to be 1st or 2nd best in the Big East not many people say anything about that. Which does make sense to me because people did make a whole big fuss about the Big East after South Florida beat a team that was suppose to be one of the better SEC teams...

While the Scarlet Knights have beat up on nobodies...

From what I've seen so far, here's how I'd rate the Big East...

 

1. West Virginia

2. Cincinnati

3. South Florida

4. Rutgers

5. Louisville

 

However, that's not how I expect them to finish. I think U of L will finish 3rd or 4th depending on the South Florida game...I think they'll lose @ West Virginia and @ Cincinnati...I'm still undecided about South Florida. I think they'll beat Rutgers.

 

And, as of now, I'd also rank the Big East 3rd behind the SEC and Pac-10.

As a USF fan, I'd love nothing better than to see the Bulls win the BEast. However, as a realist, I can see them dropping all 3 conference home games to WVU, UC, and UofL as well as road games to Rutgers and Pitt. Cincinnati is good, very good.

 

One thing I've gotten from this season so far, is that nobody, absolutely nobody, knows what's going to happen next. As someone who loves college football, that's as close to heaven as I can picture.

I know...it's much less interesting when it's included. Seriously though, from what's happened thus far, how could you rate U of L ahead of any of those teams.

 

Both UC and USF have impressive wins...UC destroyed an Oregon State team that returned most of the starters from a group that beat USC last year...USF won at Auburn, although a loss to Mississippi State may have took a little of the impact off of that win. Rutgers hasn't played anybody, but they've looked good doing so... and West Virginia has been about as expected.

 

U of L's defense hasn't looked real good all season and they've lost.

If I had to predict UL's record right now I would say they will be 9-3. Their offense is outstanding, but because of their defense if the offense is a little off against a good team they are hurting.

As of right now i think there 3rd behind WV and Rugters. and not much ahead of UC and USF. UL will be in every game they play cause of there offense but how many of these games they win will depend how much there defense improves. Utah will also be a tough game.

 

So UL has 5 tough games left. If they play like they have been they will lose at least 3. Hopefully the defense will improve and well have a better shot at another BEast title.

There's a lot of football yet to come, and I believe in the Cards. Things may be off to a shaky start, but if I'm not mistaken, they're led by a QB who faced a shaky start in another situation in his football career, and he led that team to a spectacular end of season run. It's all good!

West Virginia does not have a good enough defense right now to win a title.

 

Rutgers does not have a good enough QB to win the title.

 

Louisville is already out of the race.

^West Virginia is sort of a dark horse candidate, IMO. They have a reasonable chance to go undefeated, but will need some other teams to lose to get in the big game, IMO.

 

If they get there, I absolutely think they're a threat to win it. Would they be favored? Probably not. But, with an offense as dynamic and explosive as theirs, they can put points up against anybody...I could see them winning a game like Texas' 44-41 win over USC a couple years ago. I'm not saying I expect them to do it, but I certainly think they're capable. You can't discount a team with two heisman candidates on offense...
