Again, not a Frankfort thread...Frankfort has been to Louisville without having to buy a ticket to get in when???

My bad, just telling you they have had big wins...Congrats to the Knights. :thumb:

How did Chaz Jackson do in this match up

Chaz is a guy that if you had 11 like him you would never lose...

He is in on almost every tackle on defense, and would rush for 100 yards a game on most teams...

Pikeville needs to hand the ball off more...LC was sending everyone at the QB on D, and he didn't have time to do anything...most of the time, the first fake to the RB, the RB was 20 yards downfield untouched, and the QB was swarmed on...first man through, Harmon especially, and Jackson as well, will be huge for Pikeville down the road...

4. NO TEAM IN 1A IS AS ATHLETICALLY GIFTED AS PIKEVILLE! But, it takes more than athletes to win a state title.

Um, how about the Frankfort Panthers?

IMO this game was not even a close game. The score should have been alot higher. LC moved the ball on there defense all night. Pikevilles offense was not as sharp as I had seen. They turned the ball over alot, but thats what a pretty good defense will do to you. Pikeville's only score came in the 4th quarter. The good thing is though is that Pikeville could and should only get better from this game. Now to the officating of this game. I was not very pleased with the officating at all. It seemed like everytime LC got a good run (there were alot) the refs called a penalty. There was even a penalty for offensive helmet to helmet on the running back. You dont see that to often. Alot of tick tack stuff like that was being called for this game. Alot of penalties on catholic that you dont see very often. Anyways good luck to the panthers of Pikeville. Good luck in the 1A playoffs.

Pikeville's TD came in the 3rd...and they were in LC territory all night...

As for the refs, only Pikeville had a TD called back...I agree though, way too many flags both ways...

Was Israel still out for LexCath?

Great facilities at Pikeville - and thank you for the fine eastern kentucky hospitality.

A couple of quick thoughts:

Not quite as much speed as I was expecting from the QB / RB twins, but some decent hits from both sides. There are four or five of the Pikeville players who will be playing in College - needless to say, that's a pretty good talent core for a 1A school!

Pikeville had a nice showing and they will go deep in the 1A playoffs (unfortunately, I believe you will have to go through Frankfort and Beechwood to get to the finals), and if they clean up some line play and take care of the football, they have a real shot at winning a title.

The Pikeville quarterback did a great job at hiding the ball, and the maroon jerseys of the panthers actually acted as great camouflage - when that ball was tucked in tight against the jerseys, it was really hard to follow sometimes!

Catholic is still not firing on all cylinders offensively and some poorly timed 'penalties' hurt their momentum for sure. I think Catholic punted twice for the night (one punt coming after a sure TD pass was dropped). When Israel returns at running back, that will open up the passing game and the offense may start to look like the typical Catholic scoring machine. The combination of running backs (Raglin, Nalia, Williams) has done a great job for catholic so far, but it will be great to see number 34 in the backfield again!

Build on the momentum next week for Boyle!

Nice post, hope you enjoyed your trip...

I think LC has a lot of room to improve - getting some reps for the QB and getting Israel back...LC has some major league studs, especially #5, big-time D-1, and #10...Very hard for a 4-A team to beat them down the road...

And I believe Pikeville wouldn't face Beechwood until the finals...Lex. Christian is their main roadblock before then, along with Raceland and maybe Hazard...

Um, how about the Frankfort Panthers?

or the Cardinals of Mayfield or even maybe the tigers of Beechwood

1-A should be interesting, and Pikeville will be in the mix, provided they remain healthy! :thumb:

I was getting to them! :D

We had our chances to make this a game but we didnt capitilize on them. Im glad all the LexCath fans are being gracious on here and I thank them for that. But, Ive never been a big believer in "Moral Victories". There is nothing good about a 32 point loss when you know youre better than that. And just didnt take advantage of the oppurtunities given to them. Congrats to LexCath and good luck the rest of the season. PUT YOUR HEAD TO THE GRINDSTONE PANTHERS AND GET TO WORK!!! I shouldnt have to remind any of you boys where were going the friday after next.
