Are the injuries at home or away predominantly. I've noticed quite a few more kids than usual on the sidelines using crutches this year. I'm just curious if the new turf playing a part in any of these injuries?

I think one was hurt at Campbell County.

Beechwood beat Newport 25-22 but BHS's 1's were taken out w/5 min left(25-6) and Newport kept throwing the ball and obviously were just toooo much against BHS's 7/8th graders, imagine that.

So Newport did not play any subs ? What a shame ,you would think a team would put the subs in .What do the 1's learn going against 7th and 8th graders ?

Beechwood up 7-6 at the half .Newport scored a def td on a backwards pass missed and not covered .B'Wood had a nice goaline stand just before the half .BW came out in the second half and dominated with a backup qb and nicked up rbs .score was 25 -6 when I left .STUPID WORK .BW gets bye week next week ,which seems to be well needed .

My question is why would a kid in the 7th or 8th grade want to play for Beechwood Frosh and not get much playing time except for mop up when they can play for the Spartans and probably play more?

A lot of those kids get a bad taste in their mouth from when they were younger and sitting around during games while after working so hard during the week. So, when they get older and start to develop...it's kinda like, you didn't need me then....I don't need you now! Just my opinion.

It was 40-0 at the half. This is a very very good freshman team.

I asked someone that question about the varsity and they told me 2 of the knee injuries occured on the Basketball court, and one was the result of a contact injury. So inless they turfed the B-ball court I would say no.

It's Beechwood.

Hope the injured players will be back soon. However it has to be said SK has out played RYLE, BOONE and DIXIE on both offense and defense. I cant wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds for this frosh SK team.

LexCath beat Trinity 28-25

Are the Rocks still struggling with their kicking game? I'm assuming from the 25 points they scored 4 TD's and only converted 1 PAT?

It would be nice for the Breds to get to play against at least Highlands and Campbell Co as opposed to facing the same teams twice. I'm sure that the other AA teams feel the same.

Sorry, this sounds arrogant. I meant that the other AA schools would like to face different competition as well, I'm sure.

Not really much anyone can do about it. The 5A and 6A schools only get to play each other once basically since there are so many of them. The 2A schools plus Beechwood would normally be pretty competitve. If I were a 5A/6A school with 40-50 Frosh I don't think I would be interested in a game with a 2A school that might only have 15-20 kids.

Likewise, the 2A schools would not benefit from games with 1A schools that might struggle to get 11 Frosh. The way it is set up now is about as good as its going to get.

Newport only had around 20 players. All their kids played throughout the entire game. The question should be why should NPT concede a loss with 6:00 on the clock? I would expect every team on the losing side of the scoreboard to do the same. BW had 30+ kids on the sideline. Maybe they should have left their first team defense in the game and put the subs in on offense. It would be different it the margin was larger than it was.
