Andre Woodson

As long as UK is rushing for 250+ yards a game then it means a numer of things:

1. Running clock= Less offensive plays and less posessions... thus, less passes

2. Any coach (with the exception of that football genious Hal Mumme) would much rather rush the ball than pass the ball when they have the lead and the run game is working.

3. Why showcase your passing ability with your toughest opponents coming up if you don't have to, with the exception of last night's first half UK has dominated their opposition, why let other teams see your playbook get opened up with if you don't have to?

4. If you asked Woodson, Brooks, or any of the big name UK seniors I am pretty sure they could care elss about his stats..just the facst that UK has been 2-0 convincingly.. the offense has averaged over 50 points a game...

5. The stat I care about the most is 5 to 0. That's TD's to INT's.

MTSU is better than Kent State....

I don't buy that for one second.

Might be in KC next year

We need a burner, more than we need a QB.

We need a burner, more than we need a QB.

If by "we" you mean KC then KC must REALLY need a burner because the combo of Huard and Brodie F. Croyle is NOT the answer.

Gameplan is simple for KC eight in the box and let Gonzalez get his 8-10 catches. KC has no threat deep.

Ican easily see a scenario where KC get Woodson.

I'm guessing any qb from Texas Tech in recent years, Andre Ware, David Klinger, etc would have better stats as well.

I'll stick with Woodson.

Just for the record, neither of those guys played for Tech.

Nevermind. After re-reading your post, I doubt thats what you meant.

I think he meant any QB that has played for Tex Tech & ....never mind. :thumb:

Those were 3 separate entities - TT qbs, Ware, Klingler.

After his first two games he is 35 of 51 for 468 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Colt Brennan- 77 of 101, 964 yards, 10 touchdowns..

Those stats don't really mean all that much at face value. You could also say that Woodson is on pace to be 70 of 102, 936 yards, and 10 TD's. If you average out the number of attempts Woodson compares very favorably to Brennan. Of all the guys you listed, Brohm has the most impressive stats by far, especially considering that only he and Teel have yet to take a sack. (Another gold star for the Beast).

Hawaii has only managed a total of 82 yards rushing thru both games this season. UK has 4 players who individually have more than that. I don't see how that should reflect negatively on Woodson's ability as a QB.

Again those stats, especially after only 2 games where most of the top guys have played cupcakes are meaningless. Last season 13 players threw for more yards than did Brohm, and 43 players had more passing TD's. But even so had Brohm opted to forgo his senior season I have no doubt that he would be a full fledged member of the Raider Nation by now.

:thumb: Yea, I should pay more attention to commas. Realized that too late to be able to deleat my post.

I'm just saying that after all the talk this off season about him, his first two game's look like he should have gotten more done than what he has. I'm not downing him or anything because he is a good QB. I am just saying after all the talk and stuff, IMO he should have better numbers than what he does.

How are you not downing him or anything, this hole thread is you talking about how he is pretty much underacheiving and his stats dont compare to other QBs around the country over 2 (TWO) games. I dont think you realize that UK has gotten up big in the 2 games therefore the stats are not going to be there. This is a pretty ridiculous argument on your part if you ask me, JMO though!

So your saying his stats thus far aren't gaudy enough to merit pre-season accolade? Statistics at this point, especially against weak teams, have no practical value.

Middle Tenn and Murray are better than EKU, IMO. Im not trying to down Woodson at all because he is a really, really good quaterback. Im just saying that his numbers should be better than what they are.

So are you saying that UK needs to try and let Woodson pad his stats?

MTSU is better than Kent State....

Kent will be in the running to win the MAC.

MTSU lost at home to one of the Florida Directional schools, while KSU went to Ames, Iowa and beat Iowa State.
