If A missed extra point is gonna determine it, then you'd better make it 21-20 bell, I dont see merrick missing many of those.

I believe he is averaging only one missed PAT per year in his career. He missed one LAST week...so got that out of the way for this year! Look for special teams play to be the difference in this game. Bell's kicking game is on track. Touchbacks on nearly every kickoff.....most teams in every game start from around 20 or inside......forty+ yard punts average.... ..FG's in nearly every game. Spencer Greer...TR Christopher on returns. How are Rock's special teams this year? Someone picked Rock by 3....are they kicking FG's this year!!??

Don't quote me but I think they did kick one:sssh:

Yes the Rockets kicked a 32 yard feild goal in the southwestern game.

He's not going to miss one (maybe), the Bell Co. coaches are going to go for a 2 point conversion for the win and the Rock holds them.

I believe the Rock has one the last three games. I'm not sure what the overall record is. Does anyone know? Bell may have more wins in this series?

Bell wins 24-14 with a field goal sealing the deal late in the 4th quarter.

There have been some monumental matchups over the years between these two mountain powerhouses. Log Mountain is a tough place to play, but the environment is excellent for Friday Night Lights. This is a matchup that every high school football fan should watch at least once. Rockcastle County lost 8 starters on both sides of the ball, last year and Bell County returns practicially their whole team, minus Slusher and some WR/RB's. Both teams are undefeated (3-0) and this game could determine the district championship in the regular season. This game is being played earlier in the year because of the new alignment and the chance that both teams may meet up again in the 2nd round.

Dudley Hilton: 296-96 (32 years)

Tom Larkey: 230-81 (27 years)

Last year Bell County fans were treated to two trips to Mt. Vernon. On each occasion, we were treated graciously and like a worthy opponent. I sat on the Rockcastle side for the first game, and listened to comments by numerous Rock fans in regard to Bell. They all seemed to show nothing but respect for Bell Co. teams and never believed it was over until it was over! Hopefully, Rock fans feel the same way. Sure hope it doesn't come down to a "he said/she said" view of a QB sneak! That can strain things a little! LOL! This year should be a really good football game. Bobcats have lost three straight and feel it is time to turn it around on Log Mountain setting the stage for a run to Louisville. Mountain football should be being played well into December! We look forward to hosting the great Rockcastle fans on Log Mountain Friday night! Should be a classic battle of "smashmouth" football!

Nice post and Very true!!! I wish I could be there, I am sure I will be for the playoff meeting.

Rockcastle-31

Bell-29

In O.T.

After 3 straight wins by Rock, the tide turns the other way...Bell by 12.

Bell Co. 21-7.

I think the loss of Tanner Perkins will be a huge factor in this game. He was and excellent safety and a all around threat catching and running the football. Without him Rockcastle will be hard pressed to tackle Bells backs once they get into the secondary. Tanner was also one of the premier punters in Eastern Kentucky and that will be sorely missed. We all hope he recovers well in time for baseball and wish him nothing but the best. # 2 AND # 15 GIVE Bell a tremendous advantage in my opinion and Rock will have to fight hard and get some breaks to pull this off.

I have heard Bell may have a few starters out but can't confirm. I hate to see any HS kid get hurt best of luck to Perkins in the future.
