Was Conner that bad?

 

Conner didnt appear to be that bad of a team. They had a decent option attack and if their recievers would have caught the QB's passes, they could have made the score respectable. Their was many times that Conners QB put the ball in the right spots but the recievers would drop the passes. Even though JC had what I thought was a sluggish night, they were definately the better team.

Did anybody else notice the new underarmour Johnson Central Football tee-shirts tonight at the game?

I have a question for everyone? The officating at tonights ballgame overall was pretty good, as usual you have your questionable calls that go each way. But I was thinking and I thought that 12 men on the field was a 5 yd penalty right? The officals tonight marched off 15 yds for the penalty. Isnt this a 5 yd infraction and not 15.

Depends... if they play the play with 12 men on the field then it is a 15 yard penalty... if it simply a substitution infraction it usually is caught as a dead ball penalty and is only 5 yards.

WOW...Its seems like Deja vu for the Golden Eagles again this year after several very good players graduated. Conner wasn't a great 4A team last year but impressive stats for JC in the win tonight.

 

Next week will be the 1st district game for JC vs. Bryan Station...And to be honest I think JC goes to LEX and has their way with the Defenders.

 

The real early season test for the Golden Eagles will come in week 4 against a good South East OH Wheelersburg Priate team.

:thumb: They were in the process of switching out and the 12 man was near the sideline when the play began. I wasnt sure but I didnt think that was a 15 yd penalty. Like I said though, the game was officated okay.

#18 Nick West. I imagine he threw for some decent yardage tonight.

 

And the kicking game for JCHS that some thought might be an Achilles heel actually isn't so bad. How about Josh Leckrone? 8 for 8 on XP kicks so far on the season. Grim also was punting the ball well tonight and he's doing a better job this season so far in fielding punts as well.

I believe that #18 West was the one that started for the Cougars like Black Eagles said. The kid showed lots of potential last night in both the run and pass game.

Not Threadjacking here, but this is the same week that Conner dropped Highlands feeling that it would look for a better matched opponent to play. I guess the 8 hour round trip bus ride was worth it. I wasn't far off with my prediction either!!!! Good luck Coach Trosper in your future looking for better matchups!!!!!

Yes, West is only a sophomre - Romero at wide receiver on a few plays - Conner starting 14 of 22 are sophmores/juniors. All in all, this could have been a lot worse - JC substituted quickly. Yes, a rebuilding year for a new coach - but it was a LONG drive down and back for the way Conner played.

I heard pregame show on the radio and heard JC coach repeatedly refer to Conner as that team from Covington ...yes, he is quite a motivator, as Conner is a good distance from Covington.....but hey, whatever works

JC is quickly becoming the Highlands of the East. Congrats to JC
